A couple of Mods & Sound Upgrade

I ordered the OEM Audio upgrade within a week of getting the car because I was pretty unhappy with how it sounded. It took about a month to get it (definitely worth the wait) and it was finally installed yesterday. It made a huge difference and I'm happy with it now! The kit comes with replacement tweeters (I took a pic of the ones that came out in case anyone was curious).

Also, I bought the red stitched boot and leather brake handle. Thanks to @Hanakuso 's post in the DIY section it was a pretty easy swap!

Thanks! It made a 100% difference so I guess I would say 10. I was hoping it would make a noticeable difference (I knew it would have more base) but without changing the other speakers or the HU, I wasn't expecting a whole lot. It really exceeded my expectations though.

I ordered the sub kit from toyota parts outlet. When I ordered it, it was $875 (retail $1,099), but now I think they're selling it for $100 more. The boot, brake handle and trunk liner came from subaru parts online.

What did the audio upgrade kit come with?

Interior looks great by the way...seats and the shifter boot make a huge difference...

I really like that e brake and that doesn't sound to bad on a price for the sub kit from Toyota! Again congrats you keep up the good work

We didn't install the audio upgrade ourselves. It came with an installation booklet and a wiring harness that's supposed to be plug n play. The booklet said it takes 2 hours. My dealer charged $110 to do it.

are you concerned at all with the placement of the sub? i always hated putting a sub on one side of the car with the belief it may throw off the balance of the car.

They're very comfortable, really soft and durable like you said. We had them in our tC for 5 years and they still looked like new when we traded it in.

I guess I wasn't concerned until you said something! I'm not sure how much it weighs but the whole box wasn't very heavy... maybe 20-30lbs with all the packing material.

Im hoping they make a system that replaces all the stock speakers.

Is this system louder than stock? Seems im near maxed out on the stock system 90% of the time.

It goes so much louder it's not even comparable to it when it was stock. Before when I was on the freeway I had to have it turned up super high and still could barely hear it over the tire/road noise.

Yeah, I felt the same way before it was installed... thinking is this really going to make a big difference without replacing all the speakers? But it did

Not really... I could have got a BRZ but I like the front of the FR-S better and the 5axis spoiler. Not my fault that Scion cheaped out on little items like the hand brake lever and boot so I'll just add them myself.

I feel same way, love the front of the car. Scion did not cheap out, they just left you to bling your way.... it is all good.

It has a plug and play harness for the Scion base and bespoke HU, but isn't the one in the BRZ a completely different brand? I thought I saw one that's specifically for the BRZ on Subaru Online Parts.
