To expound on my point: The Toyota Camry has astronomical crash rates compared to our FT86's, but that's because there are so many out there. Insurance rates remain low because the ratio of accidents to total number of Camrys is so low.

To me, it seems like our two babies are crashing at rates proportional to their totals.
When pricing auto insurance coverage symbols for a vehicle (relative rates vs base risk), a vehicle gets individual symbols for, at a bare minimum, a few basic types of coverage like Liability,Property Damage, Comprehensive, Collision. Within each coverage, the relativity factors take into account, the claim frequecy and severity to provide a "Pure Premium" for the risk. Suppose a vehicle has 25% more accidents but they cost 80% vs the base risk, this car would still get a 1.0 factor.

Tell all these people totaling their car to quit!

You haven't been around as long as a lot of us have. Believe me, there are many posts with subaru guys pooping on scion, and to a lesser extent, toyota guys doing the same thing. Rebadging is just another form of snobbery.

There was a BRZ owner that ignored me when I gave him a as I drove by. There was no way he didn't see me, I had my arm out the window for like 30 seconds since I spotted him like 1/2 mile away. Most BRZ owners have been cool though.

As far as accidents go...they happen, and will continue to happen. Get over it.

you should read through the thread, or just view the pics and you will see.

Happened June 13, 3 weeks into ownership (bought May 25). Nothing as serious as these guys though. Ordered a new bumper and got it fixed...although the headlight is still cracked to hell at the bottom.

If you look, you can see the bumper all bent up in the top right of the picture. Both brackets under the headlight/bumper were busted.

damn i want those parts!!!! Makes me miss working at a wrecking yard. Although the best wrecks we ever got were always carted off to some secretive insurance burial ground :/
