10,000.

10,000 miles on a car doesn't seem like much. 10,000 miles on a car that is just over two months old is...impressive. It's been in my possession for 77 days so that equates to 129 miles per day. Another way to think of it is that this car has been traveling at an average of 5mph, non-stop, since it rolled off the lot.

Not much is new. I think I've figured out what wheels I'm going to put on at some point, which company I'll buy my exhaust from (they will probably have another couple of versions prior to buying one), which intake I'll likely buy, and some nice interior bits. ECU is still up in the air. Ecu Tek seems to be the early leader, but we haven't seen any results from Cobb yet. Either way, lots of miles before the warranty is up (5 more months at this pace!) and plenty of time to review aftermarket parts.

The car is still an absolute blast to drive and I look forward to every drive I have with it no matter how short or long. I'll also add that the forums have been a great place for information, debate (usually ), and inspiration. Can't wait to see what the next year of this car brings for all of us.

-Jacob

Should be just about broken in by now. Engine should be freed up and getting max stock HP and MPG.

How's she driving?

I'm still averaging 32.x mpg both on screen and from my fill-up log (app). After 3-4k the car -felt- like it was making more hp. Not sure if this was engine or trans changes, or just me learning how to really drive the car to it's potential. I've done one auto-x, one track day, and my 2nd auto-x will be on the 19th.

The only real piece of advice I have is get this on a track, or at an auto-x. You won't truly appreciate how great the car is until you do that.

2 1/2 months, daily driver here - only 1/10th your mileage! I'll probably drive my car into retirement at this rate (some 30 years away...).

Sounds like you're enjoying your car - and a testament that this can be a long distance commuting car. (in case anyone had doubts)

I'm sure Subaru will be interested in hearing from you as you cross higher mileage points - 50k, 80k, etc - as you'll be surpassing their test car mileage at some point.

I was wondering about what is the highest mileage BRZ/FRS in the world right now. Obviously their test cars have lots more miles than I do, but as far as privately owned I'd guess it's still someone in Japan.

X-Country road trip?

I'm a service tech and we have customers all over NA. Since I've had the car I was tasked with about 4 somewhat medium range trips for work which likely added about 3K of the miles. I probably have 5-6 of those trips a year. I can honestly say that I was as comfortable in this car on my 450m trip to AR as I am in my 1h commute to work. I'm actually rather amazed at how comfortable it is for long trips. On long trips I do wear ear plugs though, a habit I picked up when I used to drive late 80's Civics back from Cali. It really cuts down on fatigue, even in a really quiet car.

Florida to TN/NC, some mountain driving, then Cincinnati for a BBQ, then Mid Ohio for 2 days (ITR Expo HPDE), then Cedar Point, then Cleveland, then Toledo to visit Accelerated again and drink some brews, then back to the carolinas for a bit, then back to Florida..

That will probably take me 2+ years... I'm on the bike so much, the car typically sees less than 5k miles per year. The BRZ may change that...

Sounds epic. I've got a couple friends who hit up the ITR expo every year...always a great time.
