I spoke to the guy who sold me the FR-S and he said they can handle an out of state sale. I sent you his contact info in a PM.

i am sorry you decided to live a life where you must overwork yourself to get by and that you chose to live in a place where the demographic doesn't give two caps about cars that don't fit 20 people or can carry and elephant

it is truly Scion's fault

If anyone wants, I will sell my FR-S for MSRP +$4000.

I haven't really seen people flipping them in the used market for a profit. The supply is limited, but they are pretty available if you;re willing to put a bit of effort in.

I did a $500 deposit over the phone. Worked out the deal over the phone. They next day mailed me the paperwork, signed it mailed it back with a check for the rest of the deposit. They gave me a number of a shipping company, so i called and had them pick up the car, i got it a week later. Still had the same mileage on it they told me. Very easy.

eBay or autotrader and ship it in. Or have the dealership transport it. They are out there. Don't give up..

I did this last weekend. My BRZ order got pushed back to November, so I went searching. Found one in Colorado almost exactly with what I ordered. Bonus, I got to drive it through the mountains, and the break-in was done by the time I got home.

Shipping is an option as well..

You have to be willing to travel a bit. We wanted a BRZ but didn't want to wait, about 10 minutes and a few phone calls we found exactly what we wanted 1.5 hours away just sitting on the lot for MSRP. We go pick it up this afternoon =) (BRZ Limited DGM 6MT)

If it's any encouragement, the first dealer I went to told me the same thing. Saying if I didn't buy the ones they had I wouldn't be getting one until next year, only 2 per month, etc.

I started emailing around to other dealers and found a dealer two hours away that let me order an FR-S the way I wanted, and got it to me in 2.5 months. Ordered on June 1, got it Aug 10. Before giving up, make sure to look around at other dealers outside your immediate area.

When you work 70 hrs a week you don't have time to camp out at the dealer or drive to friggin Maine.

Now the dealers are basically saying to just buy a Tc as the 2013 MY is basically sold out, none of them around here expect more than 2 per month.

Basically been waiting for 4 years for this car and it materializes to be a marketing ploy to generate "enthusiam" for the Scion brand, get people in the dealer, but not sell you one for MSRP. A Miata looks better and better by the day, but god I hate rag-tops.
There are a few available in VA. Just extend your cars.com search.
