This seems ideal to me. The more spacers you add, the more lug nuts are in play to spread out the load. Five hardly seems sufficient per wheel. Three, four spacers per wheel and you're spreading the force across twenty or twenty-five lug nuts per wheel, so each one is under only a small amount of stress. Like lying down on a bed of densely-packed nails versus only a few nails. Plus you can then have those wheels as wide as you want for the flattest cornering stance.

What's the proper torquing on our wheels? I think the manual says 89 ft lbs, but I'd like confirmation on that.

I work at Discount Tire and we're not even allowed to work on the car if it has spacers. It's deemed unsafe.

Yea i should have torqued...
FUD = Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt

ie people possibly spreading mis-information about the subject.

The problem is that nobody can come of a consesus about if (or what kind of) spacers are safe to run.

I used 25mm spacers on my RSX-S and it just ruined my alignment. I hope yours are of better quality than the ones I used.

Just make sure they are at least 5052 Aluminum and hub centric.

Every Porsche I have ever owned and worked on has had bolt on spacers with studs.

Discount Tire is correct to make that as their policy. The reason why is because you are essentially adding an additional assembly which makes 10 lugs per corner. When you are dealing with that many per corner, the potential for error becomes greater. Its not saying spacers couldnt be safe, just for a company with thousands of employees, the potential problems and danger to the consumer is such that they wouldnt risk it.

Instead of using spacers, I would trade for wider or lower offset wheels if you're looking for a flush fit. Just my take on it.

I see. Thank you for elaborating.

right but what if you like a specific set and they are rare/only come in specific fitments?

Otherwise I'd agree with you.
