Just a followup, I called Yonaka directly this morning and they do not have an ETA for when they will receive additional shipment, but they did say that they are just simply OOS and that it is not out of production atleast! I assume the Fall 2017 ETA from the reseller was inaccurate.

I bought from Yonaka, in Ottawa, got it shipped.

A quick update. I installed a Yonaka catback in October of 2016. In mid June of this year my wife and I took the car on a 4000 mile road trip from deep South Texas to northern Virginia/DC and back.* The car performed perfectly as did the exhaust. From 85 mph on Texas Interstates to 50 mph on the Natchez Trace Parkway to 40 mph on the Tail of the Dragon the exhaust refused to drone and made itself known only when I wanted to hear it. All in all, I think it was a great investment.

* The car didn't complete the trip - a distracted driver in Tennessee ran into us while we were stopped at a light. Still waiting to get baby blue home. Absent that driver's stupidity the car was, for us, the perfect road trip companion. The exhaust added just enough character to make it more interesting.

Nice! I will join the club later today, I never knew about it, it would explain the lack of QC presence here... I'm in Kirkland, just a stone throw away!

Quick update on my end. I contacted Yonaka on facebook as well (earlier was by telephone) and I received a more thorough response. Here is the important parts coppied and pasted from the message:

Me: Hey, any news on when you will restock the FRS/BRZ catback?

Yonaka: No ETA, unfortunately it's being redesigned...

Me: Okay, I contacted yonaka by phone and I didn't get the impression that it was being redesigned more that it was just not in stock. What's the direction you are heading? Redesigned in what way?

Yonaka: Just some minor changes to the midpipe and tip alignment.

Me: Okay nice, It's already a good product. Maintaining the same price?

Yonaka: yes, not expected to change price. We took some feedback from the first two productions runs and applied the changes. Should be back in stock by fall

There are many QC members here & they read this forum constantly.
You'll find them more in the racing section.

If you can make the meet this weekend go for it, I wont be able to make it.

Hey everyone, big ol' bump here.

Looking to pair this Yonaka catback up with my JDL 4-2-1 EL header and stock OP/FP (with stock cat). The JDL 4-2-1 header throws a wrench into exhaust selection, and I'm trying to be careful with what I buy if I do spend the money.

I used to have the Invidia R400 cat-back for many years on both the stock header and with the JDL header, but I went back to the OEM cat-back and sold the Invidia last fall. I'm doing a lot more highway driving these days and the drone with the R400 became way too much for me.

However, now that the car is out of storage and I'm driving it around again with the OEM exhaust, when driving around town, the OEM exhaust is on the quiet side. I can't win lol! Just a tiny bit of extra volume over OEM and some tone without the gnarly drone of my old R400 is all I need.

Can anyone comment on the volume levels of the Yonaka, and also if the Yonaka exhibits drone at highway speeds when combined with a catless header?

I can't comment on the Yonaka but I can recommend the Manzo.
https://manzousa.com/product/scion-f...xhaust-system/
I bolted one up to my Open Flash Header 10 years ago and it still sounds great.
The resonator blew out it's packing a couple years ago and I had to replace it with something else. (It pissed me off that Manzo would not sell just a resonator).
But for the price, it can't be beat.

I have a Borla type S axleback I would sell. I switched to a single exit for weight savings. It has a really nice sound. PM if you're interested. We could always toss it on for a trial run.

I replaced my front and mid pipes with a single catted unit from Nameless. It uses a Helmsholtz resonator which is just a hollow sphere: no packing to blow out. The single unit also eliminates a joint. I have an AFE catless header and Borla axle back. Nice sound. No drone. The install was less painful than a prostate exam.

I think this may end up being a "who blinks first" contest between you and I on picking up this catback to pair with the JDL 4-2-1

I am still on the fence...
