black chrome muffler tip tips?
I've got the mxp black chrome tips and despite polishing they continue to be a PIA to keep looking decent. They did well for a few months but now have become quite time consuming. Has anyone found a method to keep them looking good which doesn't require constant polishing?

Weekly cleaning and add something like a sealant. I usually use a dilluted APC that I use with wheels.
Could also be the quality of the tips. Some metals are easier to keep clean than others. |

I'll give that metal polish a try. If anyone can recommend a specific sealant, I'm all ears.

Any sealant you use would need to be one designed/able to hold up under high temps like a wheel sealant or Finish Kare's High Temp Paste Wax.
Before going to the Mother's metal polish mentioned earlier, you might want to try Eagle One Nevr-Dull. The wadding in those cans polishes and cleans up tail pipes pretty nicely without getting as aggressive as the Mother Polish. P21 Polishing Soap might be another option too. I always start with the Nevr-Dull and move up to the Mother's if needed. |
