Yeah. We went off on a bit of a tangent. A lot of raw material still comes from overseas.

Oh, I thought you were poking fun at the knockoffs. Yeah, P&L is a legitimate shop.

Interesting. All our materials and manufacturing are here in the USA. Our header development is not at the top of the list yet, because we tend to serve the upper performance/quality echelon of the market, which is small. Maybe we should put out a feeler to gauge an initial group buy for those wanting sooner than later. If there's more interest than anticipated, we can bump it up the development priority list.

Lol. You really want to bring up your quality in a thread I’m in? I’m not going to speculate on what’s going on with JDL. Maybe they are just working on other things that are more profitable. There are dozens of stainless tube manufacturers in the states. I know the lead times from my vendors in the states has gone up quite a bit and my orders will get passed over for larger companies that have been customers for longer and are putting in larger orders when it comes to allocations. For high carbon flat bar stock the soonest I could get on the rolling schedule is late August and they cycle every 70 days.

Call or email JDL. I have always found them helpful and easy to deal with. If they have the material I am sure they will make you one, if not they no doubt will give an honest answer on when to expect more stock.

JDL has always seemed to work in batches with their headers. They were giving an UEL header away are part of a social media promotion a few weeks ago. May have been the last one of that batch? I ordered a EL from them around Black Friday last year. Took 3ish weeks to receive which is expected for BFS influx of orders. Totally worth it though.

There aren't that many that I know of. Not even half-dozen manufacturers of US made rolled SS tube. Maybe if you're including wholesale and reseller sources? Lots of those, but few actually have stock. A few make it to MIL-spec (what we use post headers) and only TWO US manufacturers that make MIL-Spec 321 (what we use for headers; 304 alloyed with titanium). |
