Well from my understanding you dont need to program the vin from the Body onto the ECU. You do however need to program the vin from the engine block onto the ecu. And yeah most cars wont let you program the vin prefix from a different manufacturer. And #2 would be at best a gray line of legality TBH..

EMS computer signal to power steering module.
I have an EMS 80 after market ECU fitted to a Nissan R30 race car that in turn has Toyota 86 power steering. What I need to know is what signal(s) the power steering Control Module needs so that it functions as intended. I have spare programmable analogue and digital outputs reading from engine parameters, road speed, TPS etc.
Thanks in advance. |

Hey folks,
There's a lot of bits and pieces of information scattered around the internet about the CAN message format in our cars. I've decided to compile it in my project on GitHub: https://github.com/timurrrr/RaceChro...can_db/ft86.md I've personally tested everything I could find, fixed some minor issues, added notes, discovered previously undocumented fields, etc. If you know any more information, or find any mistakes in what I've documented on that page, please let me know! Preferably in the form of a pull request on GitHub. |

I have a 86, engine swapped a 3SGE Beams with a EMU Black. as far as i can tell everything works on my car like traction control ect. however after I completed the swap my fuel gauge does not register if I put some fuel in the car it would show me the correct fuel level and after driving for a while the needle would stay on one place, i would disconnect the battery and after 30 seconds reconnect the battery in order to see the current fuel level. this is the processes after every trip. is this related to the EMU not supporting fuel economy readout (1/100km)?

You're going to need to provide A LOT more detail to get any help... What firmware are you running? Does it support the integration with the TCU? What exactly are the issues you're having? Does it run at all? Does it shift at all? What do you mean by "mid is wrong"?

Why wouldn't you just post the details here so others can help too?

It sounds like whatever data the TCU needs (load/rpm likely) aren't properly available on CAN, which is likely why the display is wrong too.

I thought it also the can bus somehow related. That is why i enter this thread Someone can info me what style and speed our ft86 can bus is ? Because the motec has several option on can bus mode to switch But As the cluster works fine..(rpm, speed) i think motec base packages is correct.. even the fuel level and water temp is correct. I tried compare datalogs from TCU side between using motec and stock ECU , they are identical.. Even the reading on motec software and the TCU are the same. Rpm, tps, speed Motec claims that this plug in ecu when comes with their harness is perfect plug in.. Even andre from hpa make a review video that is perfectly working. I tried to talk to motec.. and they now are seems also confused about this problem. And have not yet find solution for me. I sent them datalog.. and they are no mistakes. What did i do wrong |

The review showing it working perfectly, is that a manual car or automatic?
