I'm planning to get a Shorai battery soon and was hoping to use the OEM tie down. Do you have another link to that pic? It's not visible anymore thanks to Photobucket.

I'd like to get the Shorai LFX36L3-BS12 battery but would rather use the OEM tie down and J hooks, if possible. However, it seems like most people either built their custom bracket or spent ~$100 on an aftermarket set. Just wondering if that's absolutely necessary? As for the Shorai battery itself, I live in SoCal but sometimes only drive my car once every week or every other week. Anyone with experience in a similar situation? |

If you only drive your car every once and a while put the battery on a Shorai tender.
I'd say the same with the stock battery too. |

Please don't consider going without a bracket. For example, put a bowling ball in the passenger seat and then slam on the brakes. * *Don't actually do this.

I saw that too. I'm sure that it didn't work. The anchor point on the firewall is is right up there. That's why I would raise the battery. Not so much because of the length of the bolts, but that rear anchor point is up so high. Hell, I'd raise the battery so the terminals are approximately at the same height as stock. That's what the harness fits.

Looks like I might just have to pony up and get the P-Tunning bracket, which looks the cleanest and easiest from an install standpoint. |
