DIY guide

The tails are not silicon sealed unfortunately. When I first took them off I was praying that they were. =( They are fused.

You have to dremel them. Also the tail light clear lens is prone to cracking and probably would not withstand heating and cooling from an oven .

well i ended up getting my tails open. they were ultrasonically welded so i ended up putting a hot knife up to it to cut it open. i was able to save the plastic piece that sits on top. theres already a diy up, but if you would like, i can post one up on my method using a hot knife. the only difference really is that i used 3m window-weld instead of silicon to seal the tails. here are some shots i took to show the differences between the tails.:happy0180:

oh man things did go horribly wrong. i ended up cutting the back housing off, but the chrome bezel would not come out. so i kept cutting until it would.. big mistake! i didnt realize how big of a hole i had made in the housing, it was literally almost 1 inch wide. spent about 2 hours trying to figure a way to close that gap

Jeez man, that sucks. That's y I'd try something like that only on spare lights or something. Did yall see this to?

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=280921922596

Those do nothing to eliminate the look of the ugly chrome bezel inside the housings. They dont cover up the top of the housings either so you get an ugly blurry redout and chrome on the top and sides where the reflector is. I'd consider them if they covered the entire lens, but they don't, only the front face of them. Cutting open the back of the housings with a dremel and painting the chrome bezel black looks 1000x better than this and even though its a huge PITA, it's worth it IMO. I'll be doing it as one of my first projects. Wish me luck.

If you want the red-out look, just pull them off the car and paint them with this: http://amzn.com/B0071OBRXW
