Could be custom built. Make a custom brake hat that fits the twins and find a comparable sized rotor/friction ring. I'm sure something could be found close to the same size for say, a Lotus. It's only like a $10k+ solution for.........aesthetic surface corrosion. Sounds like a fun DIY for the OP to pioneer

Rust will develop on rotors anytime you have water on it and it is allowed to dry naturally (i.e. rotors are cold). If you don't want rust on your rotors, drive your car. It's as simple as that. As for Apple, you're comparing anodized aluminum in plastic shrink wrap to exposed cast iron. A simple lesson in oxidation should suffice. -alex |

I always enjoy the extra bite the pads have at the end of the driveway after a wash. Hahaha

As others have said, nothing to worry about.
My Rusty brake rotor story… Seems even a large dealer certified Mech can’t tell the surface rust from severe corrosion… Car was bought mid April 2019 had come in off the boat to dealer’s lot end of March… I just drove it cross country in August and needed a 20k KM service. My brother-in-law had washed/scraped off the bugs and whatnot that had accumulated on such a journey for me the night before so car sat wet overnight. Got serviced at a Big Subaru dealer in Vancouver following morning where he gets his Forester serviced. When I picked it up Service rep was quite concerned about the rotor integrity as his tech had noted as per my invoice “Looks like car has been sitting for a while and had created pad transfer on all rotors we have cleaned as best we could possible noise vibration in future (customer to monitor)” Thankfully I finally made it back home without and problems, the PP brakes don’t shake at all and still do a nice short metallic squeak coming to a slow stop after an energetic ride so all is good! Back at my local dealer for the 30k Km service, no mention of ANY found issues. Side note: My dash cam recorded some swearwords as it got disconnected as the car rolled into the service bay… Always an adventure bringing a perfectly operating vehicle to a dealer… |

Could be worse. You could spend almost $100k on a fancy electric car and get something that looks like a rusty roof.
