Installed my new jdl uel headers! No issues whatsoever.

Gonna clean up all the dirt down there then wash the car and go for a drive!

Final installation of the wing (before paint) Finished..

First..
We welded up the holes in the trunk

Cut out small steel panels and molded them with a huge socket to fit the curvature. Low amperage and pulse rate. the skin of the trunk is easy to melt through

after they were drilled out we placed the wing on the trunk and took alot of measurements..

Alot
we trued it up to the corners of the trunk and rechecked them vs raw left to right measurements. and then cross measured the holes.

Late night so no one measured the actual distanced for mounting holes and of course no one has a template for this so we just eyeballed the exact front to rear measurement.

That took the better part of the evening. so I had to tape them up and wait for another free period

While I was home I painted the bare metal parts. I love me some self etching primer, and then follow on top with 2 step primer sealer. it dries so fast. it doesnt look bad from a distance but the trunk needs sculpting. this car is more for use than looks anyways. I might ducktail it later. who knows

Not the first time I took a rattle can to OE paint.... sadly wont be the last.

The third and final trick to this was the underpaneling braces. that attaches the wing from the skin to the inner skeleton, which is the bracing for the wing. not super Race-car, but its what subaru deemed good enough and the TCR cars run this set up per rules.

A 1 and 1/8th hole saw centered around the wing holes did the dirty. slow and methodical though this is thin steel so it just cuts like butter with a good hole saw

Then putting the tabs in place and drilling more holes ( this was a rather holy experience)

Final assembly and one last check for body straightness. leads to this!

Back Half looks like a BRZ Ts ( anyone got brembos to sell me?)

how She sits today

the final thing I need is

iF you look towards the left there is a rubber trunk stopper on the skin, i have the hole for it but no part number, yet

Almost done gents. Hope this helps with the next kid who stupidly spends alot of money for no reason

Are you looking for number 2 in this diagram?

It was given to me by a family member so not sure, but I think it's a Cosco Scenara Next DLX.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cosco-Sce...QaAsk8EALw_wcB

If you're thinking about getting one, note that I had to roll a towel to fill the gap between the carseat and the bottom cushion. Even then it's got more play than the Maxi Cosi Pria 85 Max we have in our GTI, but it's good enough for short drives around town with the kid.

I gave my FR-S its semi-annual washing.

YES, it was a big deal - for me. -

Questions: Do you agree that one doesn't have to dry off the lower half of the car, just let it drip dry?

Do you agree that if the water still beads up on the car, it doesn't need waxing?

If you agree, let's hear from you, if you don't, just shut the fuck up -

I dry off the complete car. my dad taught me from a young age to go over inch by inch when washing the car. not so much for cleanliness but you get the best sense of whats goin on with the car when you are up close and personal with it like that.

I only wax the car twice a year. between wax coats i just use the instant detailer. so yes if it beads up its fine
I also have the ceramic coating so it might be different there

New summer tires, oil+filter, cleaned out the air filter, etc.

And @Ultramaroon's clutch slave cylinder swap. Very pleased with the result.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77390

Tires are Yokohama Advan Sport V105. I'll have to drive a bit more to give an opinion on them, but they were pretty cheap at tire rack in stock size.
