There is likely financial benefit to doing it this way. Taxes, CAFE numbers, etc.

In NJ the title only list the first 3 characters so my make is TOY (Toyota) and model is SCI (Scion FR-S). Strange.

Oh, I thought it was just my area that Toyota and Scion are in 1 dealership. Didn't know that.
