17x7.5 TRD forged wheel weight

I know I had trouble finding this info while searching around, so figured I'd provide it to anyone who might be looking in the future.

Put a set of the 17x7.5 +43 TRD forged wheels (OE# PTR2018160GR) on my car yesterday. Decided to use the incredibly scientific method of weighing myself and then weighing myself while holding a wheel (sans tire, but with TPMS sensor on it), and came up with a weight of 18.5lbs.

Not super light, particularly in comparison to similar priced aftermarket wheels like RPF1 and 6UL, but a great option and really affordable for a forged wheel.

Just an update to say that these wheels should've come on the car from the factory, instead of that awful two tone crap they come with. They look way better and sit very close to flush with a factory alignment.

Where did you get those? I've not seen that model listed with TRD USA nor on the TRD Japan website.

I bought them used from someone local. But they were a dealer option wheel, and are available through a fair number of OEM e-tailer sites. PN is PTR2018160GR

I absolutely love these wheels on the street. My 86 came with these as a dealer installed option with TRD Springs & Exhaust.

They look well with white. Less so with red though.

I like them on the red, but do agree that they look better on white.

IMO, these are the best OEM wheels I have seen yet, even better than many Enkei models, both on red and white.

They look great, but they also look like a bitch to clean. That said, if these came with the car, I likely wouldn't have bought aftermarket.

venturaII: not necessarily so. Then there would be way more cars out there with these, and it's enough for many to buy other wheels, just to be different, even if stock are good. For example - nothing wrong with RPF1 wheels, they are light, strong enough, not too expensive, look ok .. but they these days are so common, for some to not consider them because of that. So if each twin, or every 5th (if these wheels would be part of performance package for example) would come with these, i wouldn't be that sure of not considering aftermarket

I don't particularly care what other people are or are not using for parts. If I like it, I'll buy it, whether or not everyone else on the planet has one. I'd have RPF1s right now, had I not stumbled across an even lighter and less expensive used wheel/tire package when I was in the market. The stock wheels are not attractive and are a bit heavy for their size, so there's no way they were staying. These TRDs look sharp, are sized better, and are lighter to boot. Far less reason to change.

I forgot I took a photo of this wheel, on a scale, with the factory spec tire. It's not too heavy considering it's an OEM option.

Yep! .5" wider and 1.5lbs lighter. The big selling point for me is that they're forged and affordable.

For DD forged is no big deal. Only had one wheel crack on me and it was a Rota. But NY/NJ roads suck. I guess it depends on the price.
