finally decided BRZ is the way to go, but got questions.

i know that in theory the cars are 100% identical.

as i wont be going to track, so i dont really care about how aerodynamic the car is or how much it weight i have to shave off by using a lightweight battery or such things. BUT

i heard that the 0-60 time of the BRZ is higher than the FR-S/86, is that true ?

in real life, what are the differences ? ( not cosmetic differences, im talking about how the car feels, acceleration, handling or anything else.

In real life, the difference is the BRZ has a little more grip and weighs FOUR lbs more than the FRS.

That's it. And if you get the car you'd be doing yourself a disservice not tracking the car.

I'm sure the difference which was .2 seconds was simply margin of error with different cars, it's seems pretty normal to see up to 1/2 a second difference between two otherwise identical cars.

I've only driven the BRZ, but everything I read said the only real difference is the FR-Z has a slightly stiffer suspension and is a little more prone to break the rear end loose around corners because of it, I think in the same review I read the BRZ was .2 seconds slower to 60 but still beat the FR-S around the track because of the rear end breaking loose more on corners in the FR-S.

AFAIK, you don't need to in Dubai You've got some pretty good stretches right where you live.

Given access to GT86 and BRZ, both will be practically identical acceleration wise, as others stated.

Those slightly quicker times in BRZ where on a track, with a driver that LIKED BRZ handeling better. That's it. Personal preference and excitement gets you slightly better time (marginal)

we also have a nice track, the dubai autodrome. ive been there once and it looked pretty nice.
i might try it but it costs about 200$ for the beginner track.

0-60 times varies from magazine to magazine from 1-3 seconds.

1 second might just be a reasonable difference from magazine to the other but 3 seconds ?

isnt that too much ?

I guess more like 2 seconds. 3 is probably automatic.

my own opinion, BRZ is a better daily driver or grand tourer car if that's what you're aiming for.

Has more "luxurial" options available. With that said, it is very hard to pick between the two. It will be down to what amenities you want inside "out of the box".

I don't know about Dubai but in the UK the Toyota has the additional niceties while the BRZ is more basic. This may lead to their BRZ being 4 lbs lighter.

4 lbs lighter is the US spec car, I didn't know he was in Dubai.

I don't agree with this. It's one thing for you to feel the need to track, But don't say the ones who don't track it are doing a disservice. Some people have had horrid experiences on track. Some people can't afford to go out and track I'm hoping to go out one day but I'll probabaly have my brz paid off before I do. My best is getting the FR-S after basic but he won't be tracking it at all. He was almost killed on a race track so he is terrified of them. He loves this car and he will not be doing a disservice to it by avoiding the track.

Insideline doesn't use a rolling-start like most magazines do when testing 0-60 which is why their times are generally slower but more accurate

The difference is negligible and could be due to a number of factors. As others have pointed out, different tests of the FR-S have yielded varying times, and the same thing applies to the BRZ, so it would certainly be the case when comparing the FR-S to the BRZ. But realistically speaking, even the same driver in the same car won't get 100% consistent numbers back-to-back, especially when you're dealing with a car that has a manual transmission and no launch control. Don't worry about it.
