Tomei catless uel and a Perrin 3 inch. You’ll hate it. But when I had it paired with the fteightysix catted header. It was perfect.

I'm rocking the Tomei UEL and Perrin 2.5" catback, and I actually really like it...

I have mixed feelings about the Perrin catback. Way too quiet on its own for my liking, and I don't plan on going UEL for at least a while. Never heard it with headers in person but sounds decent in the sound clips I've seen.

Decided not to go with MXP after multiple recommendations going against it. And muffler delete will just be too loud after headers so I'd just wind up reselling it.

Leaning towards going with the N1, OEM over and front pipe, and eventually UEL catless headers. I've heard it in person and loved it, just not sure what it's like in car and what it's like to daily such a loud setup.

I only see a couple of people on this thread recommending the MXP. What swayed you away from it? Curious because I have one on backorder..

My buddy has an n1 rep paired with the ofh and over pipe. From the outside it wasn’t so bad. But in a ride along. There was so much drone.

Well the "bang for your buck" is what drew me in, but I was hesitating about how the inner wall of the tips taper inwards and how you can see the smaller diameter piping beyond the tips since they are so huge (4.5"?). That and it does not have as deep of a tone as the N1 due to its smaller mufflers (even though i'm equally as "meh" on the fart-can look of the N1). I had a couple people tell me it sounds a little "tin-canny" with catless headers, but never really heard that and I think mostly that is due to people running unresonated front pipes. In the end I felt like it was a compromise to what I really wanted and just decided I'd rather spend a little more to get what I wanted - as close as I can get to a deep subie rumble.

By N1 rep do you mean Spec D? I haven't heard great things about that, but I'm not sure to what degree the quality would affect drone vs muffler size. I wouldn't know since I've never ridden in a twin with either the N1 or Spec D.

The N1 is great by itself but it will be a bit loud with a catless header. I still love the sound of my setup though.

Yeah just installed it this morning and was surprised by how much louder it is in person. Videos really can't do it justice. Did you find it quiets down a tad after it's broken in? That's what I've heard some people say in my initial research.

Yeah, I'm still making my mind up too, but you really can't judge an exhaust based on its video. You have to take into account the quality of their mic, the quality of your speakers/headphones, and recording quality too. I almost went N1 but I had a drone for 5 years and I'm done with it.

I'm torn between MXP, Magnaflow, or R400 to pair with my Borla UEL. I really should just join up on a meet and listen to a few cars.

Personally I think the N1 is a little too tin canny, and paired with a header and especially only one or no cats will be annoyingly loud.

If you are planning on getting a header and going to have one or no cats. A “quieter” exhaust would pair well.

Q300, Magnaflow, and my personal choice CSG MXP touring86.

All of these will be louder then stock but not by too much. And with header and one or no cats should be a very good volume/tone for majority of people.

lol I don't think it ever really gets any quieter I think it's more of a you get used to it and notice it less.

the perrin CBE sounds amazing with a UEL header. here's a couple vids of my old car.

Tomei UEL, Perrin OP, Ark Catless resonated FP, Perrin 2.5 inch resonated CBE. A touch of rasp around 3500 rpm, no drone on the freeway. Loved this setup.
