The materials used for the brake rotors on those cars (carbon ceramic) are not comparable to the iron rotors we will use on our cars so drilling them doesn't have the same effect.

For track driving, the drilled vs non-drilled argument mostly comes down to economics if you ask me. You can run a set of iron rotors that cost you $200 per set or you can run the fancy, expensive carbon ceramics that cost you $2000 per set. People who can afford the likes of a the GT3 RS or the 488 can also afford the expensive rotors.

It's not inherently unsafe to run drilled disks but people who track their cars wear though consumables very fast and "shits expensive yo" so we want to get the most bang for our buck. Not only are drilled and slotted more expensive than blanks but drilled rotors in particular will require replacement sooner than just slotted or blank. Over a year, it might only be $100 difference but over 5 years, that ads up to $500 and you could buy a header with that money... or more track time.. or other consumables...

the 17x9 are horrible for caliper clearance. They use a design trick to keep weight down. The barrel is from a 16" wheel thats tapered out. The spokes are from the 17' +35 wheel which has a flat face for the brakes. The combination of the two means the 17x9+35 RPF1 suck for BBK.

I know the 18x8 clears without a problem. I can’t imagine the 9.5 wouldn’t but I would call Enkei and confirm with them.

I'm not sure about the 18x9.5 RPF1. In the 17x9 the RPF1s don't clear the brembos at all, but do in the 17x8. It depends on the facing of the calipers. Sometimes the wider wheels need more strength so the calipers are thicker to compensate. That means they sometimes don't clear BBK.

The 18x8 squared setup in the Raijins clear the Brembos. Unless you have FI, you really don't need to be wider than that.

Call Enkei and confirm the 9.5s fit then, we don't know very much more than you do here.
