I haven't had a car that has been able to bring in outside air without getting warmed by the engine in years...I think the last car that could do that was a 96 Camry.... that car had some good HVAC...you could get a good breeze with the fan off just driving at highway speeds.... I miss that car...

I'm pretty sure manufacturers do this to keep the humidity down in the cabin. Since almost every car comes with A/C these days they figure people won't leave the vents open on a hot day as they should be using A/C anyway.

You'll notice that with the vents set to defrost your AC pump will kick on and off occasionally. It's all part of the same system.

I also don't like the fact that the automatic transmission doesn't have a dipstick to check the tranny fluid with. Many new cars are like this. I hate that.

Not an owner, but the only thing that stood out to me on the BRZ when I checked it out vs. my 370Z was the lack of volume control for the stereo on the steering wheel. I can't believe they didn't have that...

It runs a little warmer then I'd like most of the time (as in it is nearly constantly blowing in warm air) which is really just a great excuse to open the windows. I don't use the AC much.

I also and starting to get a little irked by the lack of knee cushions for the driver. I don't feel that I need to brace all the time but I have a feeling the first trip through the mountains will teach me that they are a good thing.

Otherwise I am really really happy with the car. And the auto in "D" is a thing of beauty I just let it do its thing for the most part. If I am really looking to have a half second of fun I just hit the "sport" button and drop two gears I don't even go looking for the "M" mode anymore.

Thanks! Ill take a look at my manual. Do they have to do it with special equipment or is there a way for me to do it? I dont really like other people messing with my car.

I haven't tried it, but unfortunately it is one of the options there are no instructions for, it just says take it to the dealer. Same for the sensitivity of the lights automatically turning on when it gets dark. It can be set +40% or -40%, but its only at the dealer. Other options, have the procedure written in the manual, but these two don't.

Like others have said, bad blind spot at right rear. And backing up can be an act of faith.

This is going to sound stupid but I hate that the little triangle piece of glass in front of the door windows don't seem to have the same factory tint or whatever that the door windows have. Seems like my door windows have a very slight tint to them and those triangles are perfectly clear ... Or I am crazy ... Or both. Either way it won't matter after I find a decent tint shop I suppose.

I found something that I do truly 'hate' about this car (and other similar cars) - no oil pressure gauge!

A car that is presented as a car enthusiasts vehicle should have an oil pressure gauge. IMO, it is one of the most important gauges to have to monitor your engine's health. Not having one is just a cheap cost cutting stupid thing.

The mirrors dont have lights! Whats up with that.... no volume buttons on the steering wheel. I still love my car and the way that most of the people "break their necks" just to double check if its the car that everybody its been talking about..... i just simply love it ....

I like most of the car. I don't like the clutch. It's too light. The car has a lot of blind spots. I don't like that it's a Scion. It should have been brought over as a Toyota (But that's a whole other discussion that exists somewhere else already). I would like it if I could set traction control off permanently and only turn it on when I wanted it (Opposite of how it works now).

It would be nice if it had steering wheel controls for the radio, but it's not a big deal that it doesn't.

Overall, it is doing the job of what I got it for quite nicely. And that job is being a fun daily driver.

Hell the Miata hasn't had a true oil gauge since the early 90's they use a simulated one now. If you check your oil every other fill-up you really don't need an oil pressure gauge.

Not sure if this was already said, but the back wheel wells look a little cheap/unfinished with the holes along the rim.

Placement of front plate

I know there are many states that don't require a front plate, but for those of us in Canada and a number of states in the US, it's kind of a bummer.
I am required to have a front tag and they drilled it into the grill and put a special bracket to hold it. So maybe it was just your dealer. I would not have wanting them drilling into my bummer either.
