Actually, now that I think of it, that place if in Toronto, would likely fetch about 2.5-3 mill at a minimum. Depending on what area, it could go up quite a bit.

How many garage bays though?
If they made it into another Orangery the deals off.

In the San Jose Mercury News just today,

"The analysis shows that 68.5 percent of the homes sold last year in the San Jose metropolitan area went for over the asking price. The median amount paid over the list price was $62,000"

Crazy crazy.

Guess it's getting crazy everywhere. That rancher would be worth several million around here.

My 950sf condo has gone up 1.75x in "value" since May 2016. I paid 20k over asking at the time.

I'm rich!... kinda. If I sold now, I would be homeless unless I moved back in with my parents...

Crazy crazy.
I paid $62,000 for my house 15 years ago.

Yeah, my parents have pretty much decided they'll need to move after retiring sometime in the next decade-ish. It's just too ridiculous to live in/near SF.

It's a shame that most people that have lived here their whole life can't afford to stay. I will miss the hills and the ocean most, especially hwy 9. I've been going up and down that mountain since I was a kid.

Back in the day, when I was a kid, we used to ride our bikes to the end of town (Saratoga) and hitchhike a ride in the back of a truck to the summit. We would then ride down. It is amazing how fast you can get going on a Schwinn Stingray. We would be in tank tops and cut offs.

I'll just have to find new roads in Idaho.

At least you own something. As my Dad would say, Better than throwing rent money down the rat hole.

They said on the news the other day that you have to make $217k+ to qualify for the "average" house here. Impossible for the kids to buy here.
Those updates/remodel are good investments.

It's too bad a young couple starting out down there, can't hardly afford to buy a house ......

I agree.

My roommate disagrees, but I certainly don't say no to his monthly rent cheque!
