Dropped all my suspension goodies at Heasman Steering for installation. Also got a call from Bilstein and goes the shaft inside both shocks have been ruined. So going to cost me $1k to correct; and that is at cost price. Damage was that bad they are replacing the shock; not even going to bother to repair. Pretty cheap considering the kit goes for $3.5k here in Australia. Once very, very expensive error

Just picked up my car. $1,800 later and already I couldn't care about the money. I am in love with the suspension!!! Current setting of damper is 5 out of 10 so in the middle of stiffness and I must say it is way more comfortable than stock to my surprise. Got it alignment with a track aligment so running -2 up front and -1.6 rear. On centre steering is so direct. Much more compliant over bump. Have it at its highest setting so 30mm drop all round. Can still fit 2 fingers up front and 3 in the rear. I am in love!!!

Some pics of the set up. Taken ith my phone so excuse the quality!!

First ever track day was an amazing experience. Plenty of track time and all my mods worked without missing a beat. Oil temps hovered around 110 celsius all day (230F) which is pretty damn perfect. Brake pads held up to all my abuse even when I really started hammering it when I got comfortable.

Best lap time happened on my very last lap of the day so super stocked about that. Did a 1:16.54. Aim was 1:17-18 so exceeding expectations is always nice. Best n/a with all mods is around a 1:10 so considering I am still on my stock prius tyres and first time I am super happy. Will have advan ad08r's next time around so will be shooting for 1:13-14s next time out.

Will have photos of the car once photographer has uploaded- (Monday or Tuesday)

Verus Engineering Aero Parts Install

Yesterday and today, I got around to installing my Verus Engineering aero parts. In short they are amazing. Fit and finish are second to none and their own analysis shows they are very much functional. I installed their race front splitter, aggressive diffuer and canards/dive planes. Diffuser was purchased second hand hence a few scrapes. First I installed the canards, then splitter and then diffuser. All instructions can be found on their website.

Canards
This was a very straight forward install thanks to very clear instructions. Needed to drill 4 holes into the bumper and then place on with bolts and nuts. The instructions say that this can be done without removing the bumper (just need to remove the 3 tabs tabs on the wheel liner and a fourth behind the blinker). For me this would have been a real struggle with the right one as my oil cooler is there. Had removed my bumper many times so can now take it off in under 5min so decided to just remove the bumper; also did this as I needed to remove it for the splitter install anyways. Canards bolted straight on and the carbon finish is amazing. I love carbon fibre so this was a bit of car porn for me!!

Race Splitter
This by far was the biggest struggle for me. Instructions said it would take 2.5-4 hours. Took me just over 4 and still haven't finished yet. With the bumper already removed, I had to install the rivet nuts on the underside of the bumper (10 in total). The kit include a tool to install it. Instructions did say a rivet nut tool gun will make it easier but i decided to use the provided to instead; word to everyone- go and get yourself the rivet nut tool. The first two went on pretty well but I found it quite difficult to maintain pressure against the nuts with the bumper off. The bumper would flex. This would come around and bite me on the rear end later on. After struggling with the first four (took move over half an hour) I decided to get the tool. A quick trip to my auto parts store and had the other 6 installed within 5min. The tool will make it much much easier.

With that done I drilled into my reo bar as per instructions. Went well. Test fitted the fittings that go on the bar and fitted perfectly. I realised I misplaced the clevis pieces that bolt directly to the splitter. So I couldn't install the tie rods. Have already spoken to @VerusEric and will be placing an order today. So I decided to at least install as a street splitter version (without the tie rods). So next was installing to bumper back on and installing the splitter. All the bolts went in well except for 4. They wouldn't go in straight. Had to untighten and retighten the already installed bolts and managed to get another 3 on. Remember how I said using the provided tool would bite me in the backside. Well turns out one of the rivet nuts was not installed correctly and it was on an angle so the bolt would not go straight it. Managed to catch a few threads and then it was on. Managed to get half way screwing then I realised I was tightening it but the bolt was just spinning. Turns out the rivet nut was spinning as well. No way of undoing the bolt with so it was stuck. I was not bother to remove it all off so I decided to just grind off the bolt as I need the car later in the arvo; so now I have 9 out of the 10 bolts which in the greater scheme I don't think it is a massive issue. No sagging so that is all good. Now just waiting on the extra parts and hoping to get it done by the new year.

Moral of the story- get the rivet nut tool

FYI- I am in no way talking down this product. It is an amazing product. Just putting my experience out there so hopefully those who intend on purchasing this splitter read this and I have made their experience that bit easier.

Aggressive Diffuser
I was very surprised as to how easy this install was. Again instructions were very helpful and made the install a piece of cake. I checked their website and said that my Tomei 60s would fit (I assumed this meant without trimming). Turns out I had to do some slight trimming but nothing excessive. Trimmed more than required to ensure no rattling against the exhaust. This also required some rivet nuts to be installed. With the tool it was a piece of cake. Fit perfectly. I did not have to use any spacers with the 60s so it sits as high as possible with I am really happy with.

Only one disadvantage of this diffuser... it hides my awesome rear LCAs!!

Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35

Finally got my RPF1's installed. Nearly a 3 month wait but man it was soooo worth it!! Yes I know another set of RPF1's but have only seen twice on the forums in 17x9 +35 and never on white; saw one with 17x8. I think it looked absolutely mint!!!

Ended up also going with the Advan AD08R's in a 245/45R17. Yes an unconventional size but I love thick sidewalls plus it helps to correct my speedo which was reading higher than reality (100km when I was actually doing 96km). Yes I know I will be extending gearing but I don't think it will have a noticable impact. Plus hopefully before these tyres are dead I will be turboed.

Have -1.7 camber up front and -1.5 in the rear; I asked for -1.2 but apparently with these LCA I can't run less without installing some adjustable toe links. Something for the future. Also got Heasman Steering to lower the rear by an extra 5mm as the back was a bit too much higher than the front for my liking; dropped 30mm up front and 35mm out back. So far, in daily driving conditions, zero rubbing. Intend on doing a spirited run to get some more compression.

I immediately noticed the stiffer sidewall. Much more of the road surface being communicated through the steering wheel and chassis. Definitely rides stiffer. With the coilovers and stock tyres, it actually felt more comfortable than stock suspension. Now with coilovers and the AD08R's, rides stiffer. Definitely nothing uncomfortable but gives me a reason to play with the damper settings on the B16s and see what difference it makes.

Me on my way to get tyres. Managed to fit all 4 without using the passenger seat. Definitely couldn't see out the back!!

Once she is finally home

That perfect fitmet!!

Went today to test out my new wheel and tyre combo through a nearby national park. Has very smooth surface as well as parts which are very bumpy. Tyres and suspension performed perfectly and can confirm no rubbing at all. Here are a few snaps I took on my phone at a few lookouts.

Thanks man. I have been real tempted but have heard some issues with rattling even with the v3. Plus I love my raceseng shift knob and lockout. I do want to shorten the shifts though. Been really considering the TRD kit

Yeah I would have though the same but just going off what I have heard. At my track day I think the quickest n/a was a 1:10 from memory.

The front splitter I got from Import monster for $730 from memory. They are the official distributor for them here in Australia. The diffuser I got second sand for $600.

Everything else I imported myself directly from @VerusEric. He is super helpful so if you want to import it yourself, definitely the guy to talk to. I got the rear LCA, cam plate, bellhousing cover, camber plates and canards in one shipment. Box was fairly small. Shipping was around the 200 which I think is not that bad considering I had it within the week. What will hurt is because its over AUD 1000 you have to pay GST. But for some reason mine passed though without it so was cheering ahaha.

But definitely contact Import Monster if you are interested in their stuff. They were really helpful when I ordered my front splitter from them.
