You would probably have more luck doing this in your regional area section.

One day I took my BRZ to an autocross just to hang out with some friends (I didn't run it). Of course it had a lot of attention there. I even parked it out front as an invitation to gawk at it. I spent a lot of the day answering questions about it.

Another day I took it to the local Miata club meet to show it off. It got a lot of good reactions, including from a guy with a JCW Mini Cooper that wandered over.

I did once have a guys follow me around in his Evo X. When I stopped at the store, we chatted for a while about the car.

Even a bunch of people at work were asking me about my car and I have no idea how they figured out that the BRZ in the lot was my car.

I'll enjoy the attention while it lasts, because it won't last forever.

A little over 800 miles in, I'm getting about the same reactions - usually some comment from a passerby when I park, and lots of people asking about it, lots of people checking it out... also a lot of "I didn't know there were out yet!"

This morning I had a comment that threw me; I was doing some work at a fire department and one guy said to the other, "whose whip is that? That's hot!" Having never in my life referred to a car as a "whip", that made me feel old.

No negative reactions so far at all.

That reminds me of when I first got my WRX, one of my friends said, "nice wheels!" I thought he was referring to the Prodrive P1s that were on it so I just said "yeah they came on it." Turns out he was referring to the whole car so we both just looked at each other really confused for a few seconds

They're on my WRX, not the BRZ. I'll swap them sometime and take some pics. Hoping to get my Rota Tarmac 2s on there sometime too, it's basically the same design.

I was going stir crazy not driving the BRZ while my foot is broken so I took a chance (and a pain pill or three) and took it out for a spin. I installed a dash cam so at the begining of this video you can see a biker give me a thumbs up.

Constant stopping & staring in parking lots (myself included...damn this car is sexy). Couldn't figure out at first why people kept pacing me on the road (awkward, dude! stop it!) and then I realized why The local coffee kiosk chain is staffed almost exclusively by tuners as far as I can tell, so every break at work takes 3x longer...had one guy come charging out in the rain because he saw it on the security camera, one begged to take pictures. Those that don't know what it is are fascinated; the ones that do are ecstatic.

I think the best was when I came out to the parking lot at work on Sunday. I'm a 911 dispatcher, and all my coworkers have been checking it out; I walk out the door and there's a circle of about a half dozen cops & firefighters standing around it grinning and giggling like schoolgirls. The police consensus was, and I quote, "Holy shit, your car is fucking wicked!". Public safety approved

Enjoyed your post! I bet getting into BRZ is a pleasure after long hours shifts! Thanks for your hard work - I used to have a friend who worked as 911 dispatcher - tuff job.

Why thank you! It's not often people remember us since we're pretty much behind the scenes compared to cops & firefighters, so we really appreciate it when people do And you are so right - 15 hour shifts suck, but after getting this car, I'd gladly work them every day to keep it. I'm so glad to get to talk to people who love it as much as I do! (And hi from an expat - grew up in San Rafael).

Having one of the first BRZ in Alaska (two came in at the same time).. at the dealership it already had soo much attention. People were like, "what the hell is that?"

Driving it as my DD.. i get the usual, "woah.. that already out?", "nice car man!" , and today , "okay, i know its a subaru but WTF is that?" haha. My favorite one.. is a old man rollin his window down and was like, "That's a BRZ! Those are rare!! I've looked at youtube videos about that for the past year!"

However it gets annoying when people tailgate me and try to take pictures. I already have a dent on the side of my driver door from some idiot looking at my car while they opened their door XD.

I saw a gal in a previous generation outback sport behind me in traffic taking pictures. When the traffic let up and I was supposed to go I may have just waited for her to finish taking pictures, it'd be rude not to right?

Well traffic remained pretty crappy so I decided to open my window and get her attention. I told her to pull into the next lot if she wants to check it out and she (seemingly enthusiastically) said yes. I'm never normally this kind of person but I love that fellow subaru fans can share our enthusiasm about this car despite being so different from a normal subaru so I support it.

She seemed to like the car a lot and then she mentioned how she was bummed that it didn't have a sunroof and I asked her if she knew why there wasn't a sunroof...and she knew exactly why! We talked some more about subaru's and our passion for them, good times.

This car has definitely introduced me to a lot of friendly automotive enthusiasts I would have never met otherwise.

While leaving the lot my inside rear wheel caught some gravel and I slipped it a bit while going 5mph...she probably thinks I'm some dumb ricer trying to show off

New to the forums! Picked up BRZ Limited on June 28

Lot's of positive feedback on the BRZ, definitely turns heads!

Had a guy park next to me in a new WRX STI, when I came back to my car he was doing a mini photo shoot with the two cars side by side. He was amazed at much lower the BRZ was vs his STI

I have had people come and ask me about my car etc, but not as much as when I let it get dirty! LOL I thought I wasn't getting noticed as much around Chattanooga; however, the dirt appears to have helped!

I've had the pleasure of driving 3 BRZ's on the road. once for test drive and twice to gas customer's cars. Each drive has been no more than a few miles or so around town and have already lost count of how many times I've been honked or flashed. Twice while getting gas for the cars I've had people wander over for q&a sessions (had customers waiting back at showroom to take the car home so I couldn't do too much). It attracts attention, wanted OR unwanted. Live it up if you're the former, my deepest sympathies to all of you in the latter.

What dash cam are you using? How did you get it to show the speed?

Is it bad that the first thing that came to mind was the kind of flashing that involves the other kind of 'headlights'? I'll admit, the idea made me laugh more than anything.

1. The hot attendant at my dealership told my salesman a few times that she wanted a ride. My salesman felt lucky I drove him during my test drive (he doesn't know how to drive stickand it only had 7 miles from PDI and filling up on gas so hardly anyone in the dealer got to ride in it).
2. On my drive home from the dealer, a motorcyclist tailgated me then before his exit rode alongside me gave me a thumbs up.
3. My cute/sassy hair stylist named it "Betty" to my dismay.
4. A passerby walked up to me in my car and said, "So they finally made it!" referring to Road & Track rumor articles he read years ago. I ended up driving him around the block and he was blown away.
5. As he got into my car, an S2K owner driving by with his gf stopped in the middle of the road for a quick chat/praised my car.
6. A '92 Civic hatchback owner gave me a thumbs up. At a redlight we chatted and I pointed out how his lowered car probably has good handling feel. He replied, "Not as good as yours. Mine is front heavy" (with a V6 swap from an Acura 3.2 CL).
7. Stopped by a Scion dealership to look at the FR-S. Three salesman were drooling at my car noticing the extra gizmos inside/out that the FR-S lacks and wished they could sell cars like mine in WRB. They said the extra amenities are well worth the cost.

I'm using the BlackVue DR400G HD - By default it has the DTG and speed embedded into each video file.
