I've emailed FBM a couple times about the downpipe fitment. It's been over a week since my last email to them, and I haven't heard anything since they requested more pictures.

Estimates from a couple shops are $200+ to remove the pipe and dent or bend it. I'd probably need to have them re-wrap it as well since I can't really do it myself when it's back on the car =/

I'll probably call FBM soon and check in. I wonder if I did something wrong since no one else seems to have this issue.

I'm also curious about recirc pipes. I don't see them on FBM's site, and I don't really care for the sound of the open dump.

My install is almost done! The most mechanic thing I ever did was replace a throttle body on my Jetta, and I decided it was a great idea to install this turbo kit by my self. I just finished up the injectors and fuel pump. I still need to connect the oil line to the return spout, finish connecting vacuum line, tighten all the fittings, and put everything back! Im pretty excited!

What kind of dyno numbers are people getting, mine seems to be on the low side?

I have the base kit with GTX2867, Walbro 485 Fuel Pump, Omni 3Bar Map Sensor, 3" over/front pipe, Greddy EVO3 catback, Greddy Profec Boost Controller, ACT Heavyduty 6puck sprung Clutch with Prolight Flywheel.

My dyno numbers are the following:
E15 @ 11PSI = 275WHP, 215FT/LB
E75 @ 11PSI = 325WHP, 260FT/LB
E55 @ 14PSI = 325WHP, 270FT/LB
E55 @ 16PSI = 365WHP, 300FT/LB

Finished up my install. I am at 260whp and 210FT/LB on 93 @ 7psi. Ran into some issues with the fuel pump o-ring that i bought so we couldn't push it much further as the fuel pressure dropped in the top end. I ended up getting it fixed so I am doing some e-tune adjustments. Ill be looking for more power later, but right now I am looking for some safe fun

Your issue is pretty much what I have, so I'll take a look at my o-ring.

Also, did/do you have an stalling issues shortly after startup which goes away once you get the car moving a bit?

I had some issues where unless my car was moving it would stall -sometimes- but otherwise ran great while moving. I am unsure if the issue was resolved via the dyno tune or the O-Ring however. As of now I am having zero issues. If you have any questions or what not feel free to shoot me a message. I am not an expert but I did manage to get all of it together and running my self.

As for the O-Ring, Originally I didnt get a 2nd one with the kit so i couldn't get it started. I ran across a youtube video where it showed the fuel pump having 2 O-rings so I bought one. I was able to get it started but it was a little too loose so I lost pressure on the top end. After getting a more snug fitting fuel pump I can happily say the issue is gone and I have not had to pull the fuel pump out in over a week. Thank God.

I'm thinking of getting a Fumoto valve for my FBM oil pan. Does anyone know if the drain plug is the same size as stock?

Same size. I had one on my stock oil pan and just moved it over to the FBM pan when I installed the turbo.

In that case, may I have the honor to be added to the owners list? I've had the kit and other upgrades since last year xD

This kit looks awesome. It seems like the best FI option for the twins, but i have a question.

What do you guys do when it's time to pass emissions tests? I assume a lot of people live in places where they don't have to, but there seem to be a lot of people running turbos in cities and California.

I always assumed a tuner could rig the ECU to tell and OBDII scan that all the emissions equipment was functioning. i live in Ohio and all they do is a visual inspection for a catalyst (I'd keep the second one) and plug in a scanner.

It's now my understanding that tuners don't do this. In hindsight the legal implications are worrisome so I can't blame them. The only alternative I can see is removing the turbo, bolting up the stock exhaust manifold and returning the tune to stock. This seems inconvenient enough until you think about what you're going to do with the oil and water lines that go to the turbo.

My long term plan was to get this kit, but after a great deal of thought it seems like it might be a major ordeal to keep plates on the thing if I did.
