@Sigh-on-Rice

The link for S-SB-0007-16 : Chirping Noise from High Pressure Fuel Pump (NEW) is saying it's an invalid attachment.

Thanks.
"S-SB-0041-13 : Taillight Lens Cracking" link was also broken.
I don't know what happened, but they're fixed now.

Well you and the other guy from the UK on here may be the only ones affected.

I think driving on the wrong side of road doesn't help the steering.. confuses the hell out the ECU.

BTW: Where is@Finch1750? Has he sold his Twin?

Here in Australia we had a recall to fix an airbag issue. Apparently corrosion can occur somewhere after about 3 years & if the bag "deploys" shrapnel can kill you. It is a world-wide issue affecting all sorts of cars.
I had mine fixed.
NOW, the media is saying that due to demand there are not enough modified replacement parts so some new old types have been fitted as they are good for another 3 years. I will have to follow up to check whether I will have to go back for the latest type.

WOOPS CORRECTION!! 14/8/2017 It was for the 86 steering in Australia, NOT airbag. As Tcoat said "Only a handful of cars were affected and it had more to do with the airbag causing issues with the steering wires through some corrosion." Thanks Tcoat.

This was the big "Takeda" airbag recall, and yes, it was global. But as far as I knew, the 86s do not have the Takeda airbag. Maybe it was different for cars sent to Australia?

Nope we do not have them. The recall he was talking about was for the 86 steering in Australia. Only a handful of cars were affected and it had more to do with the airbag causing issues with the steering wires through some corrosion. Nobody here has to worry about it.

To expand on what @Tcoat said, you guys have an extra airbag down by your knees. It was interfering with some other wires which caused the steering issues in your case.

As was planned my car went to Subaru yesterday to get the steering ECU and the wiring harness changed/adjusted.. Its the first car the dealer has worked on, because of this it took them the complete day.
The service manager told me that the TSB was very specific about how the cables of the existing harness should be adjusted hence they needed to take their time.

BTW: I downloaded the fuel pump TSBs from this site so that I could email them to the dealer as they still can't find anything from Subaru regards our friends the crickets.

Update, update... the downloaded TSBs for the fuel pump from this site did the trick! My dealer managed to locate a similar UK TSB and after checking my VIN he's ordered a new fuel pump.. Fingers crossed I will have it installed in a few weeks time when the crickets will be banished.. But... I was kinda getting used to them, filing them under "character".
