Yeah I was referring to the galley plug on the top of the block. I didn't look at it that closely yet but I thought I read somewhere, at one point, that it was a Torx drive. Thanks for replying back and your help!

Figured I'd share.
I was running 0w20 since I got the car and installed my pressure gauge around 50k miles. Then I switched to 5w30 (51k miles) just this weekend. I have some few data I can share.

Mobile 1 0w20
No Oil Cooler and Stock
Perrin Oil Pressure Sensor is located at the oil galley plug between the AC and Intake
Temp is monitored through my OFT which is reading from OEM Temp Sensor
Located in Michigan

132psi (PEAK) - Cold Start - Average of 30F-45F
35 psi - 180F
30 psi - 190F
7 psi - 200F
2-5 psi - 210F

After Warmed Up - Average of 205F Oil Temp
20 psi - 1k RPM
25-30 psi - 2k RPM
30-35 psi - 3k RPM
35-40 psi - 4k RPM
40-45 psi - 5k RPM
45-50 psi - 6k RPM
50-60 psi - 7k RPM

Typically runs 5-10 psi lower than the rpm instead of +10psi/1000rpm.

Here is my data after switching to 5w30

Mobile 1 5w30
No Oil Cooler and Stock

135psi (PEAK) - Cold Start - Average of 45F-50F (warmer days)

After Warmed Up - Average of 205F Oil Temp
25 psi - 1k RPM
35-40 psi - 2k RPM
40-45 psi - 3k RPM
50-55 psi - 4k RPM
55-60 psi - 5k RPM
65-70 psi - 6k RPM
70-80 psi - 7k RPM

Pressure to RPM ratio is a lot better. I did few pulls with them close to 220F and at 7k it peaked at 82PSI which is I am happy with.
Oil temp seem to reach higher (up to 220) at normal driving with 5w30 but I think its because it is getting warmer and not because of the oil. 0w20 tops 215F normal driving with few pulls.

I will be installing a PERRIN Oil Cooler before Gridlife Event in Gingerman in June. Will be hotter ambient temps and will see if I can get someone to make note of the pressures after few sessions.

So nobody has had issues removing the stock oil pressure switch?

If so, i'll just use that one for my gauge's pressure switch, and the top galley plug for the temp.

Anyone use a hose to relocate the pressure switch? Innovate told me it was a good idea to it doesn't put stress on the joints bouncing around.

I'll be installing an oil pressure and oil temp gauge from the stock locations under the oil filter, just going to remove the stock sensor units and install the new sending units that come with the gauges. Like someone said earlier the stock oil pressure is 1/8 BSPT, I imagine the oil temp threading is the same. I got 2 1/8 BSPT male to 1/8 NPT female for the new sending units. As soon as I am done I will report back and try and post pictures. It's possible a CEL may come on from removing the oil temp plug as I think it's 4 wires not just the 1 like the pressure sensor. If i get a light I'll just tap temp from the plug on top of the block

So I after posting my oil pressures daily driving the car with 5w30 I had the chance to run a TNIA event back in May at Gingerman. Kind of a shakedown and practice for Gridlife. The post is here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=45

I closely monitored my oil pressure and oil temp at the track after running 3 20 minute session

The ambient temp outside was between 60 to 65 and it was raining.

Still no oil cooler installed.

I cannot go to detail as I was focusing on the driving but I had my oil pressure and oil temp set to go off at a certain threshold.

<35psi and >230F

The worst temp I got was 250F and my Oil pressure stayed around 35 to 40psi up to 7K

Obviously that is not ideal as you want +10 psi per 1000 RPM. So 7k shouldve been 80psi. It wont get there ever even at 220F

40 PSI is still okay IMO but you really need an oil cooler to drop those temp down. I had to cool down every other two laps.

Ugh i just have to get this done - Been putting off, have a track day in about 2 weeks... I really don't want to but i Might just buy one of the sandwich plates that work with my innovative gauge so i don't have to remove the stock sensor.

If I remember normal pressure is 70PSI at 7000 in the mechanical book.

I agree, but that only really solves the temp sensor spot - Still have to find a spot for the pressure sensor.

You have a Innovate Oil Temp/Pressure sensor right? The oil temp sensor will not fit on the oil Galley Plug. The sensor tip is too big. You have to find an adaptor with the big hole for it which I have tried and hard to find.

The Temp Sensor should go to an oil sandwich plate.

The oil pressure sender is too big to fit in the galley plug. You can use the stock switch. I recommend to get a Braided Pressure guage line like this link:

Just make sure you have the right fittings.

I sold my Innovate Guage and got a Perrin. I dont need the temp as I read it from my OFT using OBDII.
