Debadging help

Hello all,

My girlfriend has been after me to debadge my BRZ for some time now. After looking into it, it looks like the SUBARU and BRZ letters can be removed with tape and heat as they are just 3M taped to the back. I have also found the appropriate FRS guide to taking off the front and back emblems. My question is, First, is the Subaru logo the same removal as the Scion logo? Second, what does the front look like without the badge? I'm worried that there might be a slight indent where the logo is supposed to go. Third, does anyone have an idea as to what I can use to fill up the little holes where the pegs go and make them hard to see?

Just leave the Subaru emblems as is and debadge the "SUBARU" and "BRZ". Looks clean and is super easy to do. Removing the emblem on the front leaves a indention in the bumper which the emblem set in and the rear leaves holes exposed which both look stupid unless you shave the bumper for the front and cover the holes in the back. Here is a pic of what the front looks like after removing the emblem.

What they said, the front requires some work to fill and smooth out ("shaving" the bumper") if you remove the emblem.

My front bumper is shaved. Not sure if I have a pic handy. My body shop offered to do it for free when I was getting the front replaced to fix some cracks.

Even if you shave the front bumper, it still looks stupid because the lines of the hood flow from an emblem that's no longer there. It will ALWAYS look like something is missing, like you lost your badge and can't afford to replace it.

Of course, people will now chime in and say, "Nuh-uh! Mine's shave and it looks fine!"

Those people are wrong.

That's like saying people's noses look weird unless theres a mole at the tip of it.

Theres a few examples of BRZs with a shaved bumper on this forum, OP should look at decide for himself.

Mine, like most shaved bumpers, was done so that the two lines coming off the hood continue and taper off straight. Doesnt curve at the end as if its going around the emblem or anything. I was iffy about it at first too, but I'm glad I had it done.

Again, personal preferences. But "Those people are dumb" ... is a dumb thing to say when it comes to choices like these.

Yep that looks really good. The lines have been adjusted to look natural and there is zero appearance of something missing. That is the difference between doing it right and half assing the job.

Yea the back is unchanged for now. I'm planning to remove the BRZ and Subaru text, then replace the badge with this one:



I have that exact badge but in gunmetal grey, its the vintage Subaru logo. I'm basically trying to remove all the blue from the car since it sticks out too much against the white body + my teal wheels. Been waiting for the weather to warm up before trying to remove the OEM badges.

Yea I love it every time I see it. Plus, it didnt cost me a thing! Body shop offered to do it for free when I was getting a new bumper (original one cracked from an accident + some mishaps with a parking garage column :x)
