Do you plan on having your engine built? Or keeping it all stock?
I can just imagine a lot of stress on it via Turbo + Track Time. |

Not planning to run a lot of boost on track or often on the street. Stock motor should hold up for a while but we'll see. 400whp at ~14psi for the occasional fun run and 325-350whp at 10-12psi on track assuming temps and pressures are in check. This isn't a dyno queen or a driver with something to prove.

I think one of my favorite aspects of this particular car journal is how methodical you are with all your parts. Can't wait to see the finished product!!

Does the kit include all the AN fittings that were in your video or was that an option on JDL's website? Also, are there any instruction for the kit? Thanks

Yes the kit includes everything but your options will be the turbocharger itself and coatings on everything. Manifold type (UEL, EL and twin scroll) are also options but I think the "default" is UEL.

The Precision base turbo is good and you can get it sized to make more power than the stock motor can handle. It's a journal bearing turbo and it will make 300whp on pump gas pretty easily. I prefer the Garrett turbos because theyre ball bearing and oil/water cooled so there's more inherent durability there. Can't go wrong with either turbo but for a simple street build I would stick with either of the base turbos. |
