I love this
Back in high school; yes the dinosaurs had died off, but only recently; we did turn the air cleaner upside down to get the moooon sound and drill a half inch hole in the exhaust before the muffler. Made it sound so FAST, and when going home we would put a hose clamp over the hole.
Oh we were so clever.

I dropped my muffler for a week to see how the drone/noise would be and my bumper was fine. Simply unbolt it from the mid pipe and pop the exhaust hangers out from the rubber bushings. Use some WD40 on the bushings to make them slide out easily. That's it, easy.

A track pipe is cheap off Ebay or Craigslist or something- it is the simplest and easiest of exhaust mods. A Berk dual exit muffler delete looks OEM and sounds awesome, I got mine for less than $200 on CL. Invest in a couple of wrenches and play with the axleback system, don't be intimidated by it, that's how you start doing your own modding. Don't bring that simple stuff to a shop to do for you.

The good thing about axleback exhaust stuff is that you can go cheap and it won't hurt anything.

Don't let the dealership touch your car again. Most of them are just gonna ruin your car and they are also money pits!

My wife had a problem with her Camaro (Evap system) and it was covered by warranty. To get to the Evap purge valve they had to drop the whole rear end including the mufflers I installed. I have to readjust them (I had them perfectly straight!) Now because they were sloppy putting them back on.

Anyway, they don't care about your ride like you do.

In an old carb V8 the intake makes a moaning sound that is quite loud. Find someone with an old 327 and ask them to turn the top of the air cleaner over. The only downside is cold starting, most had an intake tube from around the exhaust manifold that would thermostatically close when warm.
