Eibach prokit springs group buy?

I saw the cr kiwami group buy and im just wondering if anyone is interested in a groupbuy for springs. Personally i prefer to get suspension mods first then wheels to see how the car sits.
Anyone in Sydney NSW interested?
and anyone know of any good / cheap sellers of Eibach's

http://www.tein.co.jp/srch/eng_searc...ault&restype=1

RRP for Tein Flex is 181,650 yen and that's around $2,270.

obviously you don't pay RRP in Japan but factor in shipping and potential duty/GST then the price will be close anyway.

i personally think it's overpriced what what it is.

Oh really, I was searching the other day and thought I saw 1800 but it was a quick browse so perhaps I was looking at Street Advance. I agree 2300 is a bit more than I expected. Im also looking into the RSR i sport but I think they are similarly priced...

i wouldnt say $2300 is a rip off to be honest.

it is retailed 173000 yen + 5% tax in japan which is about $2300 in aussie dollar

to consider fulcrum need to ship this over, pay for gst that is at 10% and duty that is another 5% plus they got overheads, i would say their price is competitive for an aussie based company.

yes if you get from yahoo japan and ship it direct without paying gst and duty etc, yes you would get it cheaper i bet. but then there is an element of getting caught and things got damaged and you got to cop it yourself.

i couldnt match fulcrum price just because my discount is no where as great as what they are getting from tein.

i would consider a rip off was 10 years ago when greddy turbo timer was selling as much as $250.00 when it is only retailed in japan for about $120.00, now thats a rip off!!

but speak to fulcrum and see what they can do

aussie based company like fulcrum are dying breed to be honest. only a handful survives since the internet revolution.

Street Advance is around $1.4k.

RSR Sport I needs to be imported and costs around USD $2k shipped but might be hit with duty + GST.

What about the KW V3?
i enquired with EVL Motorsport (Aussie distributor for KW) http://www.evlmotorsports.com.au/kw-automotive/

the price is $2,759 inc GST. delivered/pick up at your local KW dealer.

also got a quote from Evasive Motorsport from USA (forum vendor) and they want USD$2,400 shipped + potential duty and GST.

if there is enough interest, i might enquire with EVL about possible group buy.

thanks

EDIT: i know KW's price is not cheap but after 2 sets of Tein in my previous cars, i want to try something non Japanese as i had good experience with my friend's S3 with KW V3. KW is a German brand and it is partner with many motorsport teams around the world. It is also a supplier of Greddy FRS Formula Drift team. it's facility includes a 7-post rig which is a special suspension equipment that are used by F1 teams and major car manufacturers. i doubt many aftermarket suspension brands have excess to these kind of state of the art equipment. http://www.kw-suspensions.eu/int/kw_7post_test_dyno.php

We are going to release our Cusco Catalog pricing probably on Monday , the various coilover packages available are really reasonably priced.

this is a hard question to answer.

depends on where you want your coilovers fitted. normal mechanic or suspension specialist.

fitting coilovers are not hard and normal mechanic can do it, but you will then need to take your car to get alignment done and it's best to have the wheels you want to run fitted for alignment.

if i'm going to get KW V3 i will get the local KW dealer to fit them because the V3 has bound and rebound adjustments seperately and might require a bit of tuning. if i go for Tein/Cusco etc then i'll get my mechanic again.

in the past my mechanic fitted coilovers for around $200 - 250 then i will need to get alignment done later for around $100. prices varies between shops so you will need to make some enquiries.

yeah. well my mates ran bc coils in their cars and have tracked em and said they're perfect/fine to run with. and i've personally sat in a car with bc coils and they're good and comfortable. i dont plan on tracking my 86 hence why i settled for something cheaper and maybe not as highly branded like teins or the like. just after a daily cruiser ride. no for me LOL

i see you reason.

the issue i have is that the 86 is a good handling car out of the box. although i have no prove, i am not sure if fitting a budget coilover would make the car better or worse. Past experience with other cars might be irrelavant if the coilover is replacing old/worn shocks etc and to a lot of normal cars any coilovers are likely better than stock.

so if i'm going to fit anything i want to make sure it's an improvement over stock or i'd just keep it stock or fit some RCE starter kit and be done with.
