Immobilizer chip is on the other half of the key. Shouldn't have to do anything.

Can you verify that the item being sold is the backcover for this:

and NOT the keyless entry fob that is available on JDM86 and BRZs:

Toyota does not sell the cover separately for the 86 with smart key. SU003-03940 is the part number for the non-smart key Toyota 86 cover.
