Is it just me, or watching Ken Block do donuts for eight minutes getting really played out..... like maybe there were 6-7 more of these than needed.

This is still a thing?

It don't matter if it's around a cone or a truck. It's still just a donut

Hmmm.. maybe I'm just easily amused. I actually enjoyed the clip. Yeah, there's a lot of the same maneuvers, but doing donuts, slips, and skids to that precision was pretty impressive to me. Throwing a car around in a wide open space is one thing; doing it with that amount of control in very defined spaces is quite another. That one clip where his rear wheel is half hanging over the ledge above the water..... makes me wonder if there are any outtakes anywhere... lol... that could have REALLY been ugly.

So, yeah... I'm jealous. I sure would love to be able to stunt drive that well. Color me impressed. Probably shot in many, many takes, I would guess, but still. Sort of the stunt driving version of this.. which is pretty nuts, too, if you haven't seen it before. The "Making of.." video is also on YouTube, and easy to find. That's worth watching, too..

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xQ_IQS3VKjA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

edit.. dangit.. I can't figure out how to embed it like the OP did in the first post. Help?

Here's a link, anyway..

Kind of agree about the whole doing donuts thing.... Definitely overdone. Regardless, it's crazy to think about the $$$$ that went into making this video possible.

Who invited these guys?

Did you even watch the video..
If this kind of car control is not impressive to you then what is?

I did... for about 3 minutes, and then shut it off. It's the same as the other 8, just around different obstacles and in different settings. It's just not as impressive when I can still see the skid marks from the 5 failed attempts done beforehand.

From a video producing standpoint, it's well done, but all these videos are really quite similar in terms of the driving maneuvers.

There were a couple moments that had me raise my eyebrows (i.e. the one where he donuts with his rear wheels just millimeters from dropping him into the water, and the train one did take good timing), but overall, I'd agree.

The video in Universal Studios was (to me) the climax of the series.

Oh cool, add another 9 minutes of donut footage to the 80 or so minutes of other Donutkhana videos.

Only thing that I actually liked in that video was the Raptor.

Gymkhana 3 and 5 are my favorites and I still watch the videos but i'm also getting a bit bored of the endless donut party no matter what location they are in.

The train part also annoyed the shit out of me....obviously they had it timed that he would make it....what was the point of foreshadowing it at the beginning? Was the video just going to end in the middle with a "Lol, rip in pepperonis Block."
