Not Lancaster County Motors, Faulkner Subaru in Harrisburg. I know LCM and FSH are the 2 larger dealers in our area. The salesman that let me drive HIS car(I can't stress this enough) actually pre-ordered his in March before there was even a price for the car. He just got it last month.

Just got an offer for the car I want, it has the 1b package and chrome fuel door cover
but it's going to be available the last week of this month. Price is 28,906 with a $150 doc fee that they cut in half. Not as good as my 28,200 pre order, but I do get the dimming mirror and chrome fender trim.Figure it's an additional cost of $600 after taking into account the options actual cost vs real cost with doc fee. That seems like a reasonable amount vs waiting till October! Thoughts? |

Since a user, I believe it was "theredtape" ordered one last week and got an ETA already, I just got done putting in an order for a GBS 6MT Limited at a different dealer. This dealer apparently sells a lot more cars and has a bit more pull than the other one. We'll see if I get a better ETA than October.

My pre-order dealer just told me I can't get the refund back until they transfer the name on the pre-order with Subaru. That would mean waiting till they probably sell the car that would come in my name, in October, or whenever the hell it happens. Seems a little wacky to me.
Thoughts? Mind you this is a low volume dealer relative to anywhere else in the US. Not sure if the bigger dealers "eat" the fee until a new buyer comes along? He said something about them giving money to Subaru for the pre-orders, doesn't sound right. |

If they won't budge on that I'd have them put it in writing and tell them you're getting it notorized. If they refuse to put it in writing then you know something is fishy. That's what I've done when it comes to getting the vehicle at MSRP. I have documents from both dealers I have pre-orders/orders on saying they'll sell it at MSRP.

I know a friend of mine who just put a deposit on a FRS and they promised in writing that it would arrive in 6-9 weeks.

I considered an FR-S at first, but the looks of the BRZ grew on me more than the FR-S's. That's not even counting the list of stuff you get standard in a Premium for an extra $1k.

This really is frustrating. I pre-oreded my BRZ in early March and was told my car was expected to be in around May or June and that they are usually told 3-4 weeks ahead of time the ETA. I can't believe they are sending dealers cars they didn't order when you would think a company that prides themselves on customer satisfaction would put the people who pre-ordered cars as a high priority. If my car doesn't come in this month I'm going to go buy myself a nice 5.0 mustang because I need a car.....I sold my S60R last week thinking the BRZ would be in this month...
The guys who pre-ordered FRS's have got their cars in as they expected, why aren't the Subaru's? |

Yes, the Black Premium MT was in the lot. It looked in good condition and there was a big SOLD sign behind the glass. He even mentioned that there was some allocation/model swapping between another dealer to get your BRZ. It was parked next to a WRB Premium AT that they got in. I went to Faulkner because I got tired of Apple York's vagueness. I definitely had a better experience at Faulkner. They were definitely more knowledgable on the BRZ than Apple. The salesman at Apple didn't know it was Dual Injection, had a sound tube, or even that the cars don't really have any "options" at that point, just accessories. I hope the GBS BRZ I ordered comes in before the LR BRZ I put a deposit down on comes in. The LR one was a car another customer backed out on, I imagine because of the rediculous wait.

It depends on certain things. Do you like the basic trim level of the FR-S and/may do your own mods to it? Or is the extra $1000 and longer wait worth all the stuff the BRZ comes with? It's all preferences. I saw the list of features of the Limited, liked the looks a little better than the FR-S, and decided to get the BRZ.

Something is better than nothing. Looks my "October" ETA was unfounded as well. The SoA must've been blowing smoke up my ass. The second dealer I went to said there's no way possible to get an ETA without a VIN. Anyone ever have to deal with John J. Mergen at SoA? Seems like kind of an ass.

And "Jessica" was supposed to email me weekly with updates on my VON... that's been sporadic. Idk... it seems like the info you get varies widely depending on who you talk to. Btw, I work in Middletown, live in HBG during the week. Good to see another local BRZ buyer! |

So I called Subaru today and after finding out my car yet again had no new update, I talked to the guy for a little and all he could tell me was that they got a bout a hundred BRZs being shipped to dealers on the west coast and another hundred on the east coast by the end of the month. Also he said they are trying to get 3-5 batches shipped per month
I guess some news is better than none, but still would like to hear those magic words "your car has a VIN"
