Yep, Calabogie next Friday! MCO has a lapping day, will be great to test out the car on the track.

Cool, I'll see you there! Unfortunately, not with the FR-S - it's my wife's and I haven't brought up the idea of tracking it (I don't think she would go for it). I'm in the novice group and will be in an arctic silver (light greenish) BMW 330i.

That's great. I'll look out for you as well and you can hop in with me for some laps.

Nope... Came in Wed and earliest they could deliver was Tuesday... Was okay since I had to go away for the weekend anyways. Would have been sad having it sit in the garage waiting for me.

Tomorrow 9am. "One more sleep!" as my son says.

Enjoy the day tomorrow. Pretty exciting stuff. Mine is just past break in and the increased RPM's make the car even more fun than it already is. Had a blast with a Mustang GT and Genesis 3.8L yesterday coming home from Calabogie.

What did you do for break-in? 1000kms under 4K?

There is great debate on what is actually needed for break-in, I'm kinda on the fence myself.

the car is most likely datalogged

do the 1000km under 4000rpm to protect yourself from some random event in the future and then rip on it all you want after that.

1200 kms Nothing over 5000 except once by mistake. You will notice tomorrow that it is very difficult to stay at 4000 RPM or under (which I managed to do 90% of the time). The awesome engine sound starts at 4500 and just kleeps getting better until you hit 7500. It absolutely loves being revved. You guys are going to have a blast on the track. You will not be the fastest, but I believe that you will have the most fun working to get the car to its absolute limit of performance.

Yes, I agree the manual does state that. However they did indicate to me at Mendes that each motor is thoroughly tested before going into the car at high RPM and that I should drive it like I normally would. I figure my 1200 km and less than 5000 rpm is a nice in between mix just to satisfy my own mindset on break in. Each persons comfort level will be different on this topic.

Based on?

We know there is a EDR that can supply data in the case of an accident or airbag deployment, so they can see the asshats turning off TC so they can drift around the neighbourhood. But only if they crash.

based on the fact that memory is cheap and dataloging simple parameters is easy

i'd be surprised if they didn't program something like this into the cars

Can SCION use dataloging to void warrantly?
Such as they spot any track activity; continously much higher RPM and speed for a few periods of time and go back to normal for a month or so.

Congrats. I have a question for you: it seems that your front plate is mounted not on the bumper but a bit lower. I wonder if the dealer drilled the holes into the lower portion of the bumper or do they tied the bracket to the net. If it is possible can you take some pictures of how the front plate bracket is mounted?

I also noticed another implementation from Normancw's car from Tony Graham. Is yours also from them?
