To answer your question , yes..sounds similar.

So far so good! I am planning to ceramic coat them after I do a dyno and do the front pipe as well.
Can anyone confirm that the 350 does not have a lot of rasp to it? I don't hear any in the videos in the OP.

I could be wrong in my thinking. But i believe most of your rasp and definitely the tinny sound, will come from having a catless front pipe. As long as you have a stock FP or high flow cat FP, I bet the sound will be less obnoxious. Then it would be a matter of picking a CBE to fit the sound profile you want.

However, this is my theory. But i am currently in the process of trying out a HFC FP to minimize the sound that i find annoying. I have had OFH, Tomei and ACE B350 headers on different BRZs. The header itself has never made the sound obnoxious. But the accumulative effect of catless header and catless FP is where you get more rasp, farty, tinny sounds. At least I hope thats true this time around.

In a few days will be sharing some audio files of the ACE B350 header w/ ACE catless FP. And then ACE Header w/ HFC invidia FP. Hopefully this will tame the sound (I'm pretty sure it will) and then i can still run STX if I so choose. Once I add the HFC FP, if the sound is not tinny obnoxious...I may even add a CBE myself. I like about 60% of the sound coming out of my car. I loathe the other 40%. I bet the catted FP will fix most of my sound issues. But the header performance can not be denied.

I will let you know soon.

That teeny RC car like sound is pretty awesome.
That *is* the CS/400.

Correct, it's obvious from the title of the videos lol but I was curious about how it sounds in real life compared to the videos.

It is really dependant on the rest of the set up. My front pipe is catted with a high flow one, and it sounds quite nice. I have noticed recently that over 5000 the sounds becomes more a growl. Hard to explain it!
Damn it..i should get me a GoPro already!

I do have some video, and I am not saying it is good, of my ACE Header with catless FP. But you can hear the exhaust okay. I will say the video very much tames the obnoxious nature of the exhaust note. But I am still working on getting the video posted.

Today I installed a high flow cat FP. The ACE header with HFC cat sounds great. The pissed of bee sound that I don't like is caused by having a catless FP. I now love the sound of the car, and the performance. So, its a win-win for me. I will get some video of the new setup and try to post both before and after videos. But any sound I didn't care for was strictly due to a lack of cat or resonator.

I apologize for not posting any video (for the audio) of my ACE setup. The videos were shot with an Iphone and last about 30 sec to 60 seconds a clip. But, i am seeing file sizes from 80MB to 150MB.

I am trying to find a way to post them or reduce the size to assist in making it easier. But it is proving difficult. If anyone has any suggestions for a bonehead like me, i am all ears.

But, i will say the car sounds very good with the ACE TypeB 350 header and an Invidia HF catted front pipe, with stock catback. I do not like obnoxious sounding cars. This current setup is perfectly fine to me.

Still I will continue to try and post the video files. Maybe i can try youtube, but i have never done that either.

Thank you. That works for me. I can certainly figure it out, I am just not a social media guy. My wife is a facebooker and couch potato in the evening. I dont have facebook and dont watch that much tv.

But this evening I will work on it. I like the idea of not making it too public.

I recommend youtube. You can choose for the video to be "unlisted", which makes it so only people who directly have the link, or clink on the video itself from a link you posted, can see it. It cannot be searched for, and will not randomly pop up by itself anywhere.

All you have to do is log in to youtube (via your google account), and follow the directions; I'm sure you'll be just fine figuring it out.

I finally have the videos uploaded. It took about 5 hours to download these short clips. I am not sure they are that great. I don't believe the obnoxious nature of having a catless front pipe comes through.

But here they are in no particular manner. This is my first time taking and posting videos, so I apologize in advance. I am not a big picture, video guy. Yes, I am aware that my license plate is visible. I guess I will just have to trust that all BRZ and FRS owners are not stalkers. The videos are here to show the sound of the ACE 421 B - 350 Headers with the ACE catless front pipe and stock CBE. Then also show the same setup but with invidia HFC front pipe. I don't like obnoxious and getting a cat back in the exhaust really helped to get rid of the angry bees sound. Also, I apologize for my friends driving, my talking and the 20 - 30 mph winds that we have in Oklahoma virtually everyday.

1. ACE front pipe - start up

2. Ace front pipe - drive away

3. Ace front pipe - drive by - sorry for the rotation

4. ACE front pipe - in cabin - with windows up & down

5. Invidia Catted FP - Start up

6. Invidia Catted FP - in cabin windows up

7. Invidia Catted FP - in cabin windows down

I hope the videos are worth something. I can always try and get better video with the Invidia FP installed. But I wont be able to get better video with the ACE FP.
