Are you referring to the Blue Tooth Sync? Now that I think of it, the Scion base radio has BT and it should sync with it as well.

The only reference that I saw in the thread was about that cup holder thing. If that was what all the fuss about it ought to be pretty obvious why they couldn't make it for androids. |

This link shows "anti-theft security system" as standard on limited and not available on premium, apparently this is referring to the strut sensors http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/brz/static/compare.html cars101.com has a pretty good description of the differences (in fact I just learned about another limited feature that is not on the premium, puddle lights on the doors), but even they don't mention the different color for the clock (pretty minor thing anyways, but having different colored lights in the interior bothers me) http://www.cars101.com/subaru/brz/brz2013.html#features Last edited by Spaceywilly; 06-14-2012 at 02:49 PM. |

From what I understood a while back, that there was more integration than just that of a connection device. Don't know, lost sight of the audio setup stuff. |

Or I could have done two versions, one with the Scion first, and one with the Subaru first. Then put them into their corresponding threads. That would have been great to see how each thread turned out! ![]() But really, for us and hopefully others, its not about which is better. Quote:
I think that its mainly for iPods to connect to the radio, not phones. Since iPhones and Androids all have bluetooth (at least I think all the Androids do) there is no reason to have that plugged in all way in the back into the cup holder since it can stay in your pocket. If you take your phone out of your pocket, there is a nice cubby hole under the HVAC controls, which is way more convenient.

My dream 86 atm: Brz limited w/ frs white gauges, 86 fender emblems, and real cf interior pieces. Well i'm holding off until at least next year, hopefully there's an Brz Sti by then. If the production model looks like the concept version as seen on speedhunters back in janurary then i'm all in for that one.

BRZ Premium = Red reflector BRZ Limited = White and Lights Up In Subaru's literature, it shows that the courtesy lights are upgradable as though there are wires sitting behind it. I bet the FR-S is the same way!

I have a google/samsung nexus running ICS (android 4.0) - and it works fine... well, let me qualify that. It works fantastic for audio, and making and receiving calls. Voice commands through the head unit is a basic FAIL. For the phonebook, history, etc.. to work - you need to go into the menu and "download" the phone book from the phone.. most decks just download this by default, but some you have to tell them to download it. |

If you were to take what I said, then it is true. I never said it didn't work with the Audio, which is what you described. And I'm glad it does, cause I don't do Apple. What I said specifically.. -Catering to the IPhone, with little stuff like the cup/phone holder (not much, just the thought that they reference it and associate it for the IPhone). -And Android is the #1 selling platform for phones. Both of those are true

Anyways, It's not like you can't put your phone in the holder too... It'd be very expensive a design a multitude of plastic holders for every android to be compatible with. Last time I checked, no android was the same. This is the beauty about the design of apple's iProducts. They are the same, and backwards compatible with previous accessories. Like I said before, MINI did market research and found that most of the people who purchased their vehicles also used apple products (Who woulda thought, right? ). Who's to say Scion/Toyota didn't do the same thing? Also, rather than design a "meh" system that was compatible with most phone systems, MINI decided to design their headunit to cater to one and make it really good. Think about it like this. Just because Android is the #1 selling phone platform, doesn't mean it's the most popular in...let's say... Cupertino. It's about demographics, my friend.

Bummer! Maybe its tucked up behind there somewhere. I was going to pull the door cards off to see what kind of speakers were in there as well. I will see what I can find for that wiring!
