Thanks. I played with the frame a little last night. If you are really careful, you can remove the tags on the back and relocate them to the front.

So, my plan is to get a good shot of the car, center and have it printed in a large enough format to fit the hole, relocate the "special" tags to the the bottom corners on the front of the plate, then mount the photo in the hole with a thin piece of plastic or glass and some cardboard backing. Probably will do some type of license plate mounting screws through the holes to fill in those gaps.

I also thought about find one of those places that makes speciality vanity plates to see if you could have the photo printed on a metal plate. Still doing some research on that. I bet one of those Mall kiosk places could do it (may not exist in states that require a front plate).

500 miles on mine already, sometimes i would just keep driving and lose track of time, its such a responsive car to drive.

2 questions.

Is anyone making a first 86 piece to go into the square spot behind the shifter? "cant really explain it better than that..but the square indent in the center console.....

is the number on our license plate frame our "official"number? im 56 of 86 then...and just figured we should all get together and make our own plaques with a limited run for just us first 86rs with VINs to show we are legit....

I started a topic on this very same question a week or so ago. I am hopeful that it will happen.

Just an FYI as I haven't seen it posted elsewhere yet - but some of the First 86 winners are featured in a couple updates to Scion's Facebook page.

I email Jack and Jaycie about this and sent pictures from Toyota in Italy who had a picture of a plaque in the square indent below the shifter and cup holder. I asked if they could contact Toyota Italy and see if they could make them for us. I got a response that they have something in the works for the First 86ers but would not say what it was because they didn't want to ruin it.
I guess we wait and see

adding to the list

I'm usually a forum stalker but wanted to include mine on the list. I have #41 in the garage and loving it. White auto. As soon as i got it and saw that space behind the shifter I immediately sent the dimensions to a friend who makes badges and trophy plates. Since i've seen a few post about the same thing i will certainly post if he comes up with something killer. Should have a render in a week or so.

My Scion

Took mine out for a spin Saturday looking for a good spot to take pictures. Here's the best of what I took that day. Did a little "doctoring" of the photos, but not with the color. Just took out some light poles, wires, stop signs, etc. I'm glad I stuck with Asphalt. It really glows in the sunlight!!!

Just added you Moto-P.

If anyone else who has taken delivery wants to put up their first86 number (1 to 86), and also their Chassis #, I'll gladly add them to the first post.
