Taillight Tint

Here is my first attempt at tinting the taillights. I have to say it takes a lot of patience. I enjoy how it looks but im not too satisfied with the little details so im gonna take it off and give it another go.

What do you guys think?

*Note, this is not photoshopped. Actual tint

I would go with the model lists style where the turn signal is left clear. But thats what I like.

Good job on the tint can't wait to see the the finished product.

It looks much better than stock.

Did you do this with a spray or an overlay?

its pretty tough, i did it using a blow dryer to stretch the vinyl. But there is a lot of readjusting and stretching to do when doing the corners. Getting the bubbles and unwanted creases out is the hard part. I recommend a second pair of hands to help.

That's what I thought. I wanted to do a wrap, but I knew those corners were going to be difficult. I would rather do a wrap over paint though. Was your wrap the spray with soap and let it sit to stick or was it a peel and stick?

Spray with soap, its a lot easier to manage... once it settles you can mess with the remaining slack to work around the corners

That looks so much better than the chrome bezel. Looking forward to the updated pics of round 2.

not a fan of overlay it always looks soo thick and not as transparent as painting them but I like the effort and it still does look much better than stock.

Going to be painting mine with some VHT Red tint

Even though this is more practical than painting it, it doesn't look like the correct red; too bright.

I still think the best look would be to crack it open and only paint the chrome trimming. I'm still waiting for someone to be the guinea pig.

Perhaps if they have a pink/rose colored tint it may work.

Grazio & Co., they are a Japanese company, and they are fairly steep (something like $700).

Spyder Auto (here in the States) has an FRS now, so they should be offering some new lights soon.
