I even moved the seat forward as far as I could stand to see how much room I could make in the back seat. I could make enough to be possible to sit in. Definitely not somewhere you would want to sit for any period of time though. It is usable though, especially for smaller people.
I had that same problem on my very first test drive, I forgot to adjust the seat height, and the adjustment lever for it is a bit wonky.

Im glad you gave it another go! Its pretty amazing that the car has this much adjustment in it, I actually havent even fiddled with the telescope or tilt/height of the steering wheel yet either.

I can NOT fit in a modern Miata. I was lucky enough to sit in a FRS yesterday and was able to get very comfortable. The only problem would be a helmet. My hair lightly touches the headliner with the seat all the way down and back. I am 6' 7".

Edit: BTW I am sure people will come up with ways to fit better. I have done many things to my Miata and now fit fine in it when I had troubles at first. Lower seat rails, foamectomy, removed door handles for straps ect.

Just a general question out there, are there any differences between the adjustability of the BRZ's steering wheel and the FR-S? When I got the chance to sit in a BRZ the wheel felt closer despite the seat being all the way back, same setting for the seat with the FR-S and the wheel felt far away.

Was rather strange to me.

I'm 6'4 215lbs. I wear 34x34 jeans, but have a 36" "cycling" inseam which means properly measured from your crotch to the floor barefoot.

I'm quite interested in the FRS/BRZ, but this past Saturday i sat in a FRS and i don't think it'll cut it. The legroom was fine, i was probably a few clicks from all the way back, but my head had maybe 0.5" of headroom. It would be ok for daily driving, but 90% of the reason i'd get this car is for autox and track and a helmet won't clear. I do have an upright and "proper" seating position with the wheel close to me.

I'll keep an eye out for seat mods on here in the future. Maybe in a year or two i'll get a used one and put a racing seat in it.

I'm 6'5" and I'm all legs - 36" inseam... I feel like I fit just fine in my Argento 6MT - BUT I'm used to being too tall for cars. I can't fully extend my leg when I depress the clutch, but I'm very used to this...

The difference must be in how you recline the seat back. I'm used to BMWs and VWs with pretty upright positions and like to be upright and close the wheel. I'm sure if you lean back you can be a couple inches taller.

This makes me want to go try again. There's no difference between FRS and BRZ seats and/or headroom right?

Anyone know if the seat bottom cushion comes out easily?

txbdan, did you make sure to lower the seat? You have an inch or two on me but I got through my test drive with a more upright position than I traditionally use and with headroom to spare, only to find afterwards that I hadn't even lowered the seat as low as it can go!

I'm exact 6'2 and I feel comfortable. You know you can adjust driver seat height? Also the car has what they call pagoda roof which help with head room.

6'3" and I fit...ok...

Have to lean the seat back (not too far though) but I fit, I don't know about wearing a helmet at the same time, but them's the breaks.

Yeh i had the seat as low as it could go.

I drove by a Subaru dealership today at lunch and they had a BRZ out front. So i stopped in sat in that for a second try. Still no luck. I also noticed that leaning the back back didn't really help much because the back of the room sloped down as my head went back.

This car is a no go for me unless i put an aftermarket seat on side mounts in it.

I finally sat and test drove one over the weekend, I fit alright at 6'3. I have the seat all the way down and a click or 2 from being all the way back. My main gripes are the steering wheel doesn't telescope back far enough (hardly at all) and legroom is sort of narrow, my right knee rubs against the center console which is hard, cheap plastic... almost with an edge. I don't think either would be a deal breaker, but general comfort issues.

Im 6'3 1/2 213 pounds with a 34 inch inseem and i fit flawless as a matter of fact i instantly felt like part of the car which was rare besides the Mustang with recaro seats and my FC RX7 Turbo II. Im a former 1st gen Miata driver which i drove from Oakland to Ohio and back all without cruise control. the seating position was very similar to my FC RX7 which had tons of room....

The wheel telescopes, so its possible that was the difference. It's not a huge amount but it could make a difference in the feel.

I'm 6'5"/200 lbs/36" inseam. I fit in one. (Comfortably too, I might add!) Though, a lot of people told me that I wouldn't. Shoulda seen me though, I must've walked around the car for a good minute, just admiring the curves and design before I nervously decided to try her on. You could hear me laughing all giddy as soon as I discovered that I fit!

In my old GTP there were a few times where I'd shift my position and my knee would knock the keychain dangling from the hook, killing the engine while I was driving. That can be a bit scary when you're on the highway and all of a sudden power brakes and steering vanish.

This being said, the FR-S fits me better than that midsize family sedan did. More comfortable, too.

6'5/200 and I wear 36 length pants. Driver's seat was literally up against the backseat in my test drive, so the spot behind me will be reserved for cargo (definitely not people). Despite that, I was shocked at how comfortable I was.
