Area 86 Dealers in Tokyo

Friend of mine is coming to visit from Tokyo... and she's willing to pick up some 86 stuff for me.

Does anyone know how to find out where in Tokyo are there dealers w/ the "Area 86" sections inside?

Thanks!

As per my limited Japanese knowledge. These are Toyota shops in Tokyo that have Area 86.

Attached: screenshot from http://toyota.jp/86/area86/

If you click on those shop names, you'll see their maps. Good luck

There's a really nice shop over in Shibuya, which is right smack in the middle of Tokyo. I've been there before. This map should show you where it is. They even have a couple of people who speak English there (one of which is a nice saleslady named Kaori).

But a warning: unless things have changed in the last month or so, they keep very little in stock. Most things they have to order, and wait for them to come in. So your friend may want to head over as soon as possible.

CarsonToyota put the price for a set up somewhere on here. If I remember right, it was somewhere in the area of $2500. Not worth it (especially since they're calibrated for driving on the left side of the road.)

nice... I'm going to Japan this year and wanted to look and get parts if available ... would make good souvenir and conversation piece.

Not too far from the hotel I'm probably staying at too...

address for Shibuya location is

21-7 Shinsen-cho
Shibuya-ku, Tokyo

I went to area 86 in Toyota-shi, where Toyota headquarters is. If you were really looking to get the headlights, bring the part number. That helps a lot. Price was about $2000 (depending on exchange) to get it myself and hand carry home (Big suitcase with lots of bubble wrap. Bubble wrap was surprisingly easy to find at a market.)

All the member stating bring headlights. You guys do know that JDM headlights won't work here right? You need UKDM headlights.

Can you elaborate? I'm trying to make this my first mod, and buying JDM parts for the Evo seemed to be a lot easier. I thought that Super Street DIY article said there's a way to adjust that?

I'm not sure on Super Street DIY (cuz didn't read it)... I would recommend buy UK ver (LHD instead of RHD) GT86's headlights. If you gonna fork over $700 (each iirc), mind as well do it right way and don't regret it and wasting your $.

If you think, Super Street's DIY method works, go for it. It's not my money.

Here's Moto-san's. iirc he used UK ver

Oh found it

I thought you need Euro spec, NOT UK. The UK is also RHD like JDM.

That is correct. I believe some other European countries are RHD so you should pick carefully.

By the time the Evo came to America, it was the Version 7. Not exactly a completely new vehicle that was only a few months old.

Hmmm... I was in Japan at the time, I had thought they started exporting the Evo when they switched to a full factory line for it, as opposed to the handbuilt I through VI Ralliart Evo's. Boy that raised a stink..

Oh, wait, yeah, they waited for Subaru to test the water in America with the GDA WRX, then went in after it turned out turbo AWD's might be popular. Making me feel old!

I had a X which was completely new in terms of design. Nothing shared with the older ones.
