I'm currently using a Sony Xperia Z3. Freaking love this phone and am seriously considering upgrading to a Z5/Premium very soon.

I've used the LG G4 quite a bit, and I can say I really like that phone. The screen on it is beautiful and holy crap that camera! It has a replaceable battery and expandable storage, both which the S6 and iPhones don't.

I have an edge and love it, but if I were to do it again I would get the note edge

If you're going to upgrade on a 2 year agreement, get the most expensive phone with resale value. I think that's the iPhone. If you don't like it, you can always sell it for decent money then get whatever.

With that said, I really like the Z5 because some water resistance and bell exclusive also.

But echoing others, the Nexus 6P is really nice but sort of big to carry IMO.

exactly. Galaxy has so much Samsung crap preloaded and is so bogged down. Pure android is amazing. I like my old Nexus S more than any galaxy my GF has used (or her Iphone for that matter). Plus they just feel so damn cheap.

I like either the Nexus 6 or Moto X Pure/Style for current phones. I had the Nexus 5 and currently use a Moto X 2014 and love it. Close to pure android as it comes away from Google devices basically.

+1 for stock/near stock Android. Recently switched from a motox 2014 to a nexus 6p since it was on sale for Xmas and had an extended return date. Android 6 is nice (yay custom permissons!) and the finger print scanner worked surpisingly well. Although the performance was great, I had a hard time with the size and actually missed some of the motox features. I used it for about 3 weeks then switched back to my motox and didn't miss it, so I'm returning it for a nexus 5x.

Gah! Finally a topic and thread I can contribute to :p .

Totally echoing the sentiments about the Nexus line.

I've had quite a few Android devices (HTC Droid Eris, Moto Droid X, Moto Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, LG Nexus 5, Asus Nexus 7) and my new Huawei Nexus 6P is just a beast.

It is large, though, and I almost went with a LG Nexus 5X which would have been a nice little bump from my N5, but I went with the larger screen and larger battery capacity.

Nexus line for the win .

Cheers!

Really enjoying my Nexus 5x. Nice comfortable size. Fingerprint reader on the back works excellent. The battery life is ok if you're good with topping off the charge after half a day's usage. The rapid 3A charging is really convenient.

But make sure you get some accessories for the USB Type C connector, like a Type C to type A USB cable, and also a battery bank like Ravpower that has a USB type C port that supports rapid charging.

What's your usage? I have the 5x on order but now you have me worried about battery life. The 6p was awesome, lasted me about 3 days a charge.

The only other slight niggle I have with the 6p/5x is the type c connector. I have all these mini usb accessories I can't use, but on the other hand, the fast charging is awesome.

My vote is for the Nexus or Moto X Pure (I have the MXP).

Sure hardware isn't up there with the big hitters but near stock android and damn fast in my experience. I hate bloatware with a passion. Also love the 5.7" screen.

People do complain, at least when the phone first came out, about no wireless charging. I couldn't care less because turbocharger replenishes the battery from 0-50% in 15 minutes, 100% in ~1hr.

Time to buy a bunch of new chargers again lol. Hopefully the USB-C aren't as cheap as the ones you get with the iPhones.

Nexus 6p here! I came from a Galaxy note 4 and couldn't be happier.

Screen is beautiful (its actually a Samsung panel, same one as in the note 5), camera is great, all day bat life, FF speakers are great, and Nexus imprint works great. Really don't have any complaints about this phone except for the fact that its pretty slippery to hold with no case.

I've always been a stock Android guy but decided to give the Note 4 a shot in 2014 because of Samsungs big beautiful AMOLED screen and awesome camera. Figured I would just root the phone and load a custom rom...... Unfortunately to this day no one has cracked the ATT Note 4 bootloader. So I just ran the Google now launcher and replaced whatever samsung apps that I could with google ones and it still was no where near as nice as stock android.

So my vote def goes for the 6p.

Type C seems to be the next new "standard" so we'll see. I don't have a lot of chargers but I do have a lot of pocket/external batteries that I carry around with me, which do not support fast charging. Hopefully those start coming out soon.
