Floor mats and Bespoke Stereo upgrade not available?

Hey guys, my dealer just sent me my VIN and also informed me that when I get my car on June 1st that I will not be getting any floormats or the Bespoke nav unit upgrade because they aren't available yet. Anyone else know about this?

I know that the BeSpoke will not be available at the initial launch of June 1st but should be available most likely by the beginning of August. I will be adding the BeSpoke unit to my FR-S once it becomes available, but in the meantime at least the standard unit still has BTSA. As for the Carpeted floormats I have not yet heard of anything along those lines from my Scion Reps.

We're getting our first two next week, and they both have BeSpoke on them.

Also, floor mats are standard in the FR-S. Maybe your dealer looked at the accessory list and didn't see them - because they're standard - and assumed that meant they aren't available.

My FR-S comes in this week and I'm getting it with BeSpoke as well and by floormats did you mean trunkmat? Because the trunkmat is optional, I got it.

OK, I was complaining that floormats were not standard and my salesman just kinda laughed at it. Geez.

I was a little shocked that BeSpoke wasn't available, but maybe dealers won't have them until later but the port can install them? I will get on my salesman's case.

Yeah, I ordered the $95 trunk mat with the car.

Yes, it's a port-installed upgrade right now so your dealer should have been able to tell them to put one in or trade with another dealer before shipment.

You should also be able to get the radio dealer installed, if it doesn't come with it.

And show the sales person the Scion website. It says right on there that floormats are standard on the FR-S.

Oh, have the dealers received those accessories yet? If anything I'd think he'd have to wait 'til around August to get it dealer-installed

Oh yeah, I know that carpeted floormats are standard equipped in the FR-s, which is an rarity within the Toyota/Scion line. All of our vehicles outside of the FR-s have floormats as additional equipment, can't tell you how many times the customers have been stunned by that.

Would you like a photo of the "included" floor mats in my car to show your salesguy?

I'm guessing he just doesn't realize you can't order them because there is no need to as they come in the car.

As far as BeSpoke, folks are already getting cars delivered with them in it, so not sure what that's about.

Haha, no, I don't need a photo... if they come with them then that knowledge is good enough for me. Shouldn't EVERY new car come with floormats!?!

I'm giving my contacts at Scion corporate a shout about the BeSpoke issue.

Yea, I guess that probably is what it is. I have to say, I'm loving the stock radio with the big ugly knobs. I particularly like it that after just 9 days of using it, I can use it without looking at it. There's something to be said for old fashioned buttions and twisty knobs.

I love tactile interfaces. Give me buttons & knobs over capacitive touch panels any day. I refuse to buy a smartphone that doesn't have a keyboard.

I was that way until about a year ago when I was kind of forced into buying an iPhone. Now I love it, although I do yearn for a physical keyboard once in a while.

Yay--I'm not the only one who still loves/needs a keyboard on their phone. I can't stand an only-touch screen phone for texting.

And--as plain as the stack pioneer head unit is, I actually am glad not to have a touch screen to distract me. I really need to be alive in this car because the steering is so responsive, so not having to fiddle with a touch screen actually ended up being a blessing. I'll be more careful without it.

I think they should, yes... I don't mind the added fee for the trunk mat, though. Was shopping for Hello Kitty floor mats online and discovered the insides of the FR-S are so tiny, I don't think I'll be able to fit any.

I don't have a keyboard on my Droid X, and I love Swipe. Works really well.

On something that you don't want to have to focus on though (like a radio) you just can't beat knobs and buttons.

+1 for the knobs. I hate scrolling thru menus just to change the bass.

Oh--I have Swype and love it, too. Trying to get it for my Kindle Fire, but haven't been successful yet.

They do. That's the last item you haggle when you buy a new car. You tell them floormats are free or you walk. Never failed yet. Who the hell pays for floormats?(not counting trunk)
