Best Car Care Supplies or Kit?
Hi All,
I'm wanting to keep my new baby nice and clean, but am having trouble deciding what kind of care supplies/kit I should get. Since it's a new car I know that a lot of the cheaper items can damage the finish. Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for what they've used in the past. |

Wolf's Chemicals. Zymol. Sonax. Klasse. There are lots of options and everyone finds something different that works for them. I have learned a lot from autopia.org.

For starters, Meguiars come highly recommended. their ultimate quick detailer will be your best friend for a new car.

![]() Tip: I found a 20% off coupon here: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/autogeek.net I also found out that they look at your total before the coupon to see if you get free shipping! This last bit isn't too helpful though, because the free shipping deal ends in about 2 hours and 20 minutes. Brett

It looks like you have either an Asphalt or Raven FR-S, based on your avatar. I recommend Blackfire Wet Diamond. Its a sealant, so you apply this before a wax.
I use it on both of my cars, and it lasts about 3 months before the surface slickness starts to dissipate. I love the gloss and depth it adds. Its easy to apply too. You can do it by hand, but I use my Porter Cable with a black finishing pad to do the entire car in about 15 minutes. Let it haze, then buff off. You can layer it too. Stay away from waxes that have fillers. They hide scratches for awhile, but once the first rain storm passes through, the scratches will show once again.

For waxing/polishing and sealing I love Klasse products. Fantastic stuff.
Plus I get my stuff from eshine.ca. They carry all top quality stuff.

Got some ONR on the way to test either No Rinse or even No Wash depending on how easy it is to move the wash bucket down two flights of stairs (covered parking)

The first time I tried using one rag, but it just got too wet even with strict wet/dry sides so I switched to one rag for each. I also found that for me folding the rags into triangles 3 times works better for maneuverability and coverage than just folding twice horizontally. Took me a while to find a good balance in the panel break-up for cleaning, but I've found this works best with quick detailer misting and drying each panel before moving to the next: - 2 panels on the roof - 2 panels on hood - 2 panels front spoiler to the turn signals - 1 panel from turn signal to door hinge - 1 panel door - 1 panel door open to mid rear wheel well - 1 panel wheel well to lower bumper - 2 panel trunk top and face Let me know if you have any good tips as well! |

Heck yeah! Been a user since '01. Guess everyone has their thing, but for all my travels and products things stuff smells the best, doesn't powder, and doesn't make my hands feel like they have been in chemicals all day. plus everything is cross compatible!
