I bet you were at riverview toyota. I got the same sell on that asphalt frs with the pre-tinted, nitrogen-filled, and waxed markups.

Yeah, I didn't preorder a BRZ, and bought one on 5/26.

Yes, I'm lucky. No, don't expect this to happen to you.

Same story around here...in Vegas I visited my local Scion dealer this weekend. They had 5 FR-S in various colors all available at MSRP with no crazy add ons or dealer markup. Still don't even have a VIN for my preordered BRZ. If one of those 5 had been white I'd probably be driving it.

sorry to hear that you got riped a new one with the $1000 mark up on BS nitrogen filled tires.... bc for what its worth, it will give you absolutly no advantage what so ever over air

Instead of paying $1k markup on an FR-S you could pay a trucking company ~$1,500 to transport an un-sold BRZ to you. There's quite a few in New England as previously mentioned. Find a dealer that has one, do the transaction over the phone/e-mail, and have them arrange for transportation. Just food for thought...

I very strongly considered immediately calling up that dealer in Jersey with an un sold BRZ Limited Manual in WRB since that is the hot ticket right now and what I ordered. A one way plane ticket and a great drive home would have been very enjoyable. I will stick with my dealer for a couple more months then if I don't have a VIN I will find one on a lot.

I don't think the OP means exclusive in the way you're taking it. I think he means it more along the lines of the BRZ being the more limited quantity model of the two (see the edit of his last sentence above for my interpretation).

I see it like this: "Thanks FHI for giving the vast majority of the US allotment to Scion instead of your own f'n brand."

No one's hatin' on your FR-S
Yes, I am so sorry if my word choice got you and others so upset. I meant limited rather than exclusive.

I don't hate the FR-S, I hate that I can pick up one today, but I have to wait for the BRZ.

In fact, by the end of the day, I might own one.

Yeah, and I had to talk them into a test drive. Nice looking car though.

Thanks for the heads up Evil86. Sev is right, I was being sarcastic, seeing as the cars aren't completely identical.

Just wait for the BRZ, evil. That way you can run the better spring rates for autocross and throw on a swaybar that will get you what you need and be more competitive in CS.

Well, one BRZ sold yesterday . I bought mine off the lot in RI. The doc fee is less there than in CT but I did have to pay full MSRP.

I see a bunch on autotrader for MSRP (no markup) in the NE. Dilemma is I love the Toyota orange but love the goodies on the BRZ.

I'm sure Scion will sell it with the goodies in the next few years, but these prices are also going to spike with all the demand / currency rates. $30k usd in the next few years would not surprise me.

Sorry, I should have replied to the same posting you did, but I was sloppy and replied to yours. When I looked at your post and the post to which you replied after reading Sev's post I realized my mistake. I just hadn't responed yet.

Too late. The forty pound weight difference was one reason for jumping ship. Light weight was one design goal and so adding weight to it doesn't make sense. The cost difference can spent making it more suitable for autox, and availability made me an Monkey Butt Red FR-S owner as of yesterday.

I am clearly not an FR-S hater, nor am I a BRZ hater. That way of thinking is no more than dumbass foolishness. The three cars are three trim levels of the same platform. Nothing more.

There are 3 or 4 Subaru dealers around the Kansas City area that have ~10ish allotments total yet only 2 have been sold-ordered. The rest remain unordered.

I bought my rare-configured Suzuki SX4 for MSRP + shipping from Virginia to SoCal when I lived there. Shipping a BRZ from KS to anywhere would be half the cost of shipping coast-to-coast since it's centrally located. Shipping from KS to Phoenix is a no-brainer.

Sorry, I already have one or two co-drivers in Taylor. I have had several requests to date and my dance card is pretty full.

Hopefully 1 of those 2 KC preorders is me! I'm supposedly #3 on the list for Lee's Summit, paid months ago and haven't heard anything so far on my MT SWP limited.
