BRZ AT Limited (29,345 MSRP), with LoJack installation (715.00) and Titanium protection plan (628.00 wheels are covered, dints and scratches are covered).

California tax 8.75%. Financing at 1.8% for 48 mo, with 30% down.

Total OTD, including financing charges: $34,525. I plan to pay off everything before the end of this year, so I'll save about 600 in financing charges, that will bring total OTD for me to ~$33,900

Thats your 'all-inclusive plan'. Well, I skipped extended warranties and paint sealants jobs for now.

You need to undersand that this is a 30K car (plus-minus a few grands, depending on options + tax differences). If you can't stomach this fact - you should not buy it, because its going to be a financial mistake on your part.

I just looked over my sales Contract:

Limited SWP MT Brz: $28,522 (Wheel Locks, Auto Dim, and delivery)
7/70,000 Gold Warranty: $1,159
Sales tax: $2,500
License and Fees: $293
Doc Prep Fee: $55
Finance @2.94% with (14k down): $1,441

Total OTD: 33,972

I know ouch... I got upsold on the stupid warranty, never buy the warranty... but I was in the moment and I'm worried about the first year model glitches.

I got pre-approved by TechCU, San Jose for 1.99% APR with 25% down prior to the purchase. Told Capitol Subaru finance manager and my sales guy Eugene that upfront. They wanted my business and it was the last day of Subaru's Memorial Day sales event. So, they gave me a slightly better deal to get my business.

I said it several times on here - work with local credit unions, they are the best when it comes to car loans rates. If not for the Subaru special, I would have worked with them.

Yeah, my local CU offered 2.99%, Toyota/Scion offered 3.25%, and the dealer's finance guys shopped and got 2.09%, then got an answer back for 1.99% the next day and had me rescind & re-sign at the lower rate. 1.8%'s great! Wow!

Best part about it was getting getting to see my Experian FICO credit score for free - I don't think you get the score for free usually, just the report, so that was nice. My score was WAY higher than I thought it'd be.

Holy shit! You need a secured credit card to get you started, use it only for gas and pay it off in full every month. Get your credit score increased and refinance for gods sake.

Why would you even consider buying a new vehicle, let alone a $25k one with credit that results in an APR that high? Priorities man...

Noob here (been lurking a while), so I didn't want to start a new thread, but I have a few questions I'm hoping someone here can help answer.

I'm looking at some FR-S inventories online, and the one I want has a for sale price of $28,205. Are the options included in that price mandatory? Obviously, if it has the tint, that's not coming off, but what about the warranty, mud guards, and things like that? Can I whittle the price down by telling the dealer I don't want some of those options?

And for anyone taking advantage of the school grad program, is that something I can ask about once I walk into the dealership? I graduated in May of 2010, so I may have missed the 2-year cutoff, but I thought maaaaaaybe I'd qualify regardless...
