It's more a question of component failure rates. I don't have a problem with installs.

Oh, in that case, If you know what you are doing with wiring, impedance, gain, etc. then just go with the cheaper option! Highly unlikely it will fail if everything is setup right. Alpine subs are decently reliable all-rounders and the only way you'll torch it before its natural lifespan is by fucking up something on install/setup

Huzzahhhh. I kind of miss the 90s/00s in which standalone car audio stores were all over the place.
