I think that people are just looking for opinions for fear of getting screwed by their insurer or the repair shop. I have personally seen several times where insurance missed a few key repairs that could have brought the claim higher and had the owner get a new car or other instances where the insurance wants to repair but after a bit of back and forth they agree to give a new vehicle (totaled). Just my 2 cents

I have this squeak under my car. It only happens when it is moving and I think it comes from the front or rear wheels. It might be my driveshaft, transmission or engine though. It goes away when I am stopped and I never hear it when the engine is running but I am not driving. The monkey at the stealership says he can't hear anything but my homies at the Rocket Bunny Appreciation and Mega Street Cred club on Facebook say that it could be a major defect that Toyota is hiding.
Do you guys have this noise? What is it?

Which coilovers should I get? I want to drop it like 3". Also want it to handle well. Need to fit +0 offset wheels. Will it rub? Oh, and I've only got 600 dollars. What is geometry?

Dang it Tcoat, I want to go on a drive with you. It was fun cruising with Ultra yesterday. :3

I was behind him when we hit the twisties at the end... my god can he drive.

Tried to follow his line. I got scared and backed off. lol

OP responds, gets really aggressive, adds details that we would've needed to answer original question. Claims everyone else is silly for not knowing.
Thread derails.
OP asks completely unrelated question after receiving the answer he really wanted to hear all along.
That pretty much sums it up, yes.
But the derailing is fun, every time!

And you're right, on many other forums no one bothers to respond and the thread dies miserably.

I have been on forums that if you even remotely went off topic the post was deleted.
Yes, the threads were very nice and orderly and it was extremely easy to read. All 4 of the people that stuck around there had great on topic conversations all the time. Right up to the point that the forum died and eventually disappeared from the net completely and I never even knew that could happen.
As I have said many a time, if a topic is strong enough it will survive a derailment. If it can't it was probably doomed anyway. Just look through the tech threads that are usually hands off for derailment and see how many bad questions get 2 or 3 responses and then just die.
