I take it he's not following the recommended break in procedure?

Brakes were fantastic, Hawk Blue's up front, HP+ in the rear. Nice bite, good pedal feel and balance, no fade at all.

Car was a blast! Even with the factory tires, it's very tossable and nimble. Once we put on the Super Sports though, the chasis really came alive and showed the balance and grip that Toyota and Subaru have promised. I only ran the factory tires for one session on Friday and the best time was a 1:42.something. On the same day, on the PSS I went 1:37.1. This morning, the times were mostly the same, but in the evening session after the track cooled down a bit and dried out (we had intermittent rain all weekend), we made some air pressure adjustments and I tried a couple different things with my line and managed to click off a fast time of 1:35.7 - which I was pretty satisfied with.

For tire pressures on the Michelins we ran 31psi cold, 38psi hot and that seemed to be the sweet spot for performance and grip.

More video to come...

Just for comparisons sake, the last time I was at PBIR was a couple months ago coaching and racing with a friend in his '99 Spec Miata. I tied the track record during testing, qualified on pole for the race and had the fastest race lap by half a second. I think it's fair to say I know my way around PBIR.

The SM lap record here is a 1:34.3 and most fast race laps were in the 35s and 36s. It's totally apples and oranges, obviously, but it's just another frame of reference for those who may have experience with SMs.

Would you say the balance changed when putting on the 245 performance tires compared to stock? If so, in what way. Did it become less lively?
How did it break loose compared to the stock tires?

did you get a chance to check out Skeen's laps at VIR? 100% stock. 2:24.8 is the carrot for now.

I have a question!

With the 245's on the rear did you notice a drastic difference in understeer? Cause I was planning on going with 225 square setup because I'm afraid of staggering it and just creating a bunch of understeer.

Hey! I saw you out there! I even passed by your Trailer with a couple of my friends (they kept asking you for a ride in your Supra )

Regardless, i was glad to see you smash the FR-S like it was made to do! Your brake pads were on fire!

Do you feel there is still room to get the FRS time down and compete for the record?

Close to competitive Spec Miata lap times, in street trim with just a few minor mods and zero issues....as a former NA Miata owner that seems like a very nice place to be!

Thanks for your post & replies.
