23 male gta no tickets/accidents 1 claim (stolen vehicle) they told me I won't be penalized for that but probably bs who knows. Wawanesa bardeau broker and my quote was 3000 (270/month) full coverage 1000 deductible 1 mil liability etc. Man I wish was older but surprisingly enough that has cheapest insurance for me ever. Paid 295/month for rsx type s last year so I guess I should be happy? Lol

I'm guessing another 4k for the FRS... JEEZ. I'm seriously reconsidering my purchase now.

Since we are talking about insurance here, what are you doing regarding mods vs letting insurance know? I've searched the net and it seems pretty tight. Some people keep it quiet, others say its a dumbass idea and you should tell. With so many cars on rims and lowered, it cant be that 90% of people keep it hush hush and pray for the best, its insane.

Turns out I deal with one of the most strict insurances mod wise (Statefarm), and when I started asking my agent questions, he tried the best he can, explained that they insure cars as they are from the factory and anything that i change has to go through an underwriter (so he did not say if it will get rejected or passed). Asked about TRD parts, he did not say anything specific. Then I said when I repair cars they arent "as factory" anymore. What I was trying to get out of him is what is exactly a part that violates their policy vs maintenance replacement. I mean I could probably go to a shop and they make an exhaust for me. It may change performance, but how would they judge if its replacement or performance for racing on the streets? Do I need to call them every time I put a part on my car? Its ridiculous. I just couldn't get anything out of him and he said he can't provide any more info and I should forward the details to him for an adjuster to look at. Which is fine I guess, its worth a try see what they say.

Mods and insurance? Where to? Maybe I should switch? But I heard most companies are like that.
Thoughts?

ICBC today had a quote for the BRZ but not for the FR-S today.

Was quoted under 1700/year. Pleasure use only, 2 million liability, full comprehensive, -43% discount.

The hell would you tell insurance that you have mods for?

Your insured for your car when you purchase it at a dealer, what you get is what you get, nothing more / less. It's like modding a leased car, lol. Don't tell them.

The only problem is if you get into a major accident with your car all lowered, and such, than there will be an issue.

Get quotes from everyone.

You guys need to be more detailed..

Like, AGE, LOCATION, POINTS, RECORDS, ETC?

Toronto is a huge increase, as opposed to Courtice.

I got 2300 from RBC in Calgary, 2 speeding tickets and im 24.

Got a qoute from touchstone insurance and they offered me 1850 however because i had my license in Saskatchewan first for 3 years i would have to do a bunch of paperwork to switch.

Next March i will shop for a better rate its just to much hassle to cancel and have to make the double first payment again.

Wow, I am glad to be old LOL.

The BRZ will cost me about the same thing as my WRX. Around 785$ /year with 500$ deductible, 2 millions responsbility and "valeur à neuf".

I am 37....

2000$ in insurance premium ? Get an other car, it is not a good way to waste your money...

When you're younger and or have a ticket or two it doesn't matter what car you drive they will still rape you with insurance rates.

When i first moved to alberta i got quoted 4500 dollars a year for a 6000 dollar car lol.

I just find it strange that people are willing to take that much risk. Thanks for your answer.

Meloche Monnex 1mm liability and full coverage with $500 deductible.
Multi-car discount with house insurance on same policy.
BRZ = $1,100/year
FRS = $1,000/year

I still remember when I was 18 and drive a MR2 pay $8,000/year for liability only

People take risks all the time. That's part of life.

Also, when you mod a car, you can can most likely VOID the warranty if something where to happen. EX: E/H/I

So if you do mod it, be careful.

My insurance is just over $90 month, full coverage including collision. Pays to be in my mid-40's and without tickets.

the biggest risk is not having the insurance not pay for your vehicle repair.

it is the risk of having your LIABILITY portion denied. So if you get sued as a result of your vehicle causing damage, you're fucked.

I'm in Los Angeles. Esurance is $180 per month.
I called Allstate, and they quoted me at $175.

Really expensive. By the way Allstate now ownes esurance. If anyone in LA has suggestions for lower insurance please let me know.
