r4m3n's Ultramarine FR-S

Took delivery of my car earlier this afternoon. I had a nightmare of a time working with my original dealer waiting for my Ultramarine FR-S that they promised I would have a week ago, but still hasn't shown up. Did all the paperwork too but ended up canceling the sale today.

Then, I got a call from another dealer telling me they have the color I wanted so I rushed over and was in my brand new car in under 90 minutes. I couldn't ask for a better buying experience.

I didn't get much time to drive the car (or so I thought) as I had to head straight to my carpool meeting spot for class tonight in LA (from OC) right after I took delivery. I attend B-school two nights a week at USC and take turns on carpool rides.

When I pulled up, I did NOT expect my 3 friends to WANT to ride 40 miles up to LA and back in my little FR-S. We looked like a bunch of clowns trying to fit into such a tiny little car. I'm 5'11', and sitting behind me was a 5'10' guy, a 5'8' guy in the rear right seat, and a 5'4" girl in the front passenger. I had to move my seat up 2 notches, but for me, I still managed to sit comfortably in place and it wasn't as cramped up front as I originally feared. My passengers never complained in our 45 minute drive up, but I can't imagine them wanting to do this again.

So yes, I can confirm tonight that 4 full-size adults CAN sit in an FR-S in harmony. I just wouldn't recommend it.

One BIG surprise is the pulling power of FR-S with 4 adults seated. I feared the car would feel sluggish and underpowered with so much weight inside, but amazingly this car didn't seem to let up. The car rode smoothly across the power band and there was enough torque to get me up to speed. Never once did I feel that the car was showing any loss of power. I had a Civic coupe (lease) and you can definitely feel the lack of power once you start sitting people in. Even my TSX felt slow with passengers in it. Not the FR-S. Impressive.

Anyway, just got home and here's a few pix i took earlier. Enjoy. The car is an absolute blast to drive.

Glad you finally got it, I had a similar situation it sucks having to deal with dealers not getting stock. But it worked out for the best I suppose. Are you loving it or what?

Did you get your car at DCH Torrance? If so, that's the dealership I had a nightmare working with.

Loving the car so far!

Ha that's funny so did I at first. I went there a couple weeks ago and one of the guys refused to get rid of all their mark up crap. A week later a different guy called me with exactly what I wanted and he also got rid of all the mark ups for me. I had a deposit at Hooman In Long beach but my car never showed up, as far as I know it still hasn't.
