Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

I would get the cheaper option with rob and the procede at the same time. Aux is not needed but I like mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey all, something I wanted to bring up:
I finally took the ESC + Procede out for a long distance drive from Bakersfield to Pismo and back, for around 300 miles round trip. I used the ESC liberally during the drive which was great fun, as I got to feel the full range of power this kit offers. With that being said, I noticed a few things. Mainly: - The heat really does hamper performance. At times I'd remain at 27.0 V charging for a couple of minutes, which really doesn't hurt anything when it comes time to activate the compression, but still you notice it. - I hit 22 / 21 V quite a few times, and still do even driving around town. Mostly coming out of turns or using the ESC to accelerate after having to brake hard due to traffic or distracted drivers. I'll see it drop to 21 V or so, but then come back up to around 25 / 26 when it feels like the boost is kicking in. The latter part about the 22 / 21 V readings, should I be concerned? I did take it in for service and they said they tested the battery, so I'm going to double check all my connections and make sure nothing is out of place. It looked fine to me at Cars & Coffee. Is it time for me to look into a new set of batteries if it keeps showing this pattern? I mean I get the boost just fine, I'm just worried I'm draining the dump packs more than I should be. What's the cutoff voltage for when I should worry? I don't think I've ever seen them below 21.0 V. Also on that note, what general maintenance do you recommend @fenton / @Robftss? Things to keep both the turbine and the batteries and the controllers in good condition. I am the third owner of this kit / battery pack, after all. |

When it is winter here where i am i can even see 19 to 20v, the cold makes the v drop faster. If you ever see 16 to 17 that usually means something is not connected correctly. There is actually no maintenance required, the turbine has such a low RPM(relative to a traditional turbo) that we will never have to service it. Rob has been runing the same controller in his truck for over three years, it is filthy dirty and still works like a charm. Depending on your location your battery posts could get corroded, cleaning them once a year could be a good idea. If you have a early gen kit it will be important to make sure that the battery posts remain tightened down good. Checking these every couple months is more than enough. |

@LucidMomentum, the charger recommended by Rob is also a battery conditioner. I would recommend getting one just for conditioning and keeping your batteries in good shape. It automatically shuts off when the charging battery gets below 13 volts, so it won't drain your starting battery. If you don't already have an OBD2 extension cable with power switch, get one, so you can turn off the OFT and prevent draining your battery.

Yeah I plan to get one of those, but for now I just don't leave my OFT plugged in except for testing. |

The wait is over for the Best tune
After another week of trial and error, I've finally got a tune that delivers both economy and power. I've copied the changes to CAL ID'S A00D, A01D, B01D, and D00D for any of you who have matching CAL ID's to try out. For those who want to try out the AVCS changes with different CAL ID's, I've included 2 pics of the AVCS Safe tables that I've changed to produce the my Best tune. The Normal Tables are different however.

Is alternator size crucial?
Is 70amp alternator size good enough? |

Has been so far. I also have an electric air pump for my suspension running. The only electric problems I've had so far is with the OFT draining my battery overnight when i forget to switch off my OBD2 extension switch. I'm going to be putting in a 4th battery in the trunk to run my audio amp, so I'll probably be putting my alternator to the test then. I want to put it on a relay, so it's not going to get drained overnight, but can help start the car once I turn on the ignition.
